Aggies vs Rebels Preview and Analysis

RECENT FORM
Utah State has played 5 games.  Game 1 was a close win over Washington State 26-23.  Game 2 was a big win over North Dakota 48-24.  Game 3 was another supre close win against Air Force 49-45.  Game 4 began the slide as Utah State lost to Boise State 27-3.  Game 5 Utah State lost to the BYU Cougars, but hung tough 34-20.

UNLV’s games have all been losses so far.  They opened the season with a really close overtime loss to Eastern Washington 35-33.  Game 2 was a bigger loss to the Arizona State Sun Devils 37-10.  Game 3 was an even bigger loss to Iowa State 48-3…. It got better from there, but it didn’t get better in the win column.  Game 4 was a loss to Fresno State 38-30.  Game 5 was yet another loss to UTSA 24-17.  It has all been downhill for UNLV this season… they feel like a permanent underdog.

Offensive Analysis

Utah State is ranked 14th on offense in the FBS.  They have scored 17 touchdowns on 491 ypg. They have scored on everybody except Boise State.

UNLV is ranked 126th (out of 130) on offense in the FBS.  They have scored 10 touchdowns on 282.4 yards per game.  They are 0-5 on the season.

Defensive Analysis

Utah State is ranked 119th on defense in the FBS. They have allowed an eye popping 18 touchdowns and 463.8 yards per game.  They score perfectly well but can’t seem to stop anybody.

UNLV is ranked 113th on defense in the FBS.  They have allowed a staggering 26 touchdowns on 451.4 yards per game.  The FBS ranking takes a lot of numbers into account, strength of schedule, stats on stats on stats…. But 113th seems a bit high.
