NBA Standings

Jazz: 45-30, 5th place Western Conference
Clippers: 36-39, 8th place Western Conference

An NBA Western Conference matchup of potential playoff teams.  The Jazz have a fantastic coach in Quin Snyder… it’s not a joke.  Quin , whom you have never really heard of, keeps coaching and keeps winning every season.  In Los Angeles Tye Lue took a good job that was attached to a legit Big Two in SF Paulo George and SG Kahwi Leonard… both those guys have been hurt.  Tye took the rest of the roster and made an 8th place team out of it … so much better than their arena mates the Lakers who can’t sustain the loss of one guy because their coach doesn’t belong there in the first place.   The Western Conference has a tight three at the top… they may be battered below.. But there are still good teams that could rise up.

The Utah Jazz have won only 4 of their last ten games.  They went 3-6-1 ATs during that stretch.  They are the reason the Mavericks were able to jump into 4th place.  The Jazz are a team that usually wins 6 of ten… but this year they have suffered from the injury bug.  The last game against the Mavericks they suffered from not having C Rudy Gobert or C Hassan Whiteside.. The lack of shot blocking and rebounding made the Jazz easy fodder. The team’s star SG Donovan Mitchell has also been victim to a bad shooting night that followed a bad shooting night.  As it is with any franchise… if your leading scorer in any game win or loss is SF Rudy Gay… then you never really had a chance.

The Los Angeles Clippers have won ONLY TWO of their last ten games.  They were threatening to do great thing in the previous ten games and then collapsed.  They went 3-7 ATS during that stretch.  They saw the return of SF Paul George in practice… and that may have been what sank them.  PG Reggie Jackson has been the de facto star.  SF Nicholas Batum is supposed to be the ultimate team guy… backup Center isaiah Hartenstein is supposed to bring energy and skill off the bench… and SG Luke Kennard was a 16 ppg flame thrower off the bench…, over the last twenty games Luke has reduced his scoring average by 5 points to 11 ppg.  Isaiah has receded back into the wallpaper.  Reggie Jackson has stopped being a temporary star.  It has all gone bad because none of it was real to begin with.  If the star or stars are coming back they need to hurry.!  The team is collapsing and could use the support.

Utah Jazz vs Los Angeles Clippers Game Prediction

Our prediction for Tuesday, March 29th is…. Clippers 118 - Jazz 114

The Clippers will win outright… it will be safe to bet on the spread.  The Clippers have taken a beating, but are getting their feet under them now.  C Rudy Gobert with the jazz should be held out another game since this is a meaningless one for the Jazz in the standings.
