Season Record

UCLA Bruins: 16-2 on the season, #1 in the Pac-12, #3 in the nation.
Arizona Wildcats: 17-2 on the season, #2 in the Pac-12, #7 in the nation.

A Pac-12 battle with just a touch of redundancy.  The #3 UCLA Bruins played the #7 Arizona Wildcats just 9 days ago at home in Los Angeles for a huge 75-59 win, which was also a win ATS.  This time around the Bruins will be traveling to the heart of the American desert to play the same game in Arizona’s home.  Both teams are fantastic, both teams are nationally ranked.  This time around the spread will undoubtedly grow to entice bettors to put down for a rematch.  Will the Wildcats play better at home?... Will the Bruin struggle on the road?  Let’s check the numbers.

The UCLA Bruins are on a 6-game winning streak.  The Bruins have won 9 of their last ten games.  A near absolute trouncing of their foes in the Pac-12 had they not dropped a game in overtime to the Oregon Ducks 84-81.  They have beaten the Utah Utes, the Stanford Cardinal, the Cal Bears (twice) and yes the Arizona Wildcats among others.  Running through the conference knocking off teams and checking boxes.

The Arizona Wildcats are no chumps. They have won 8 of their last 10 games.  The two losses have been to the Tennessee Volunteers and the UCLA Bruins.  They are only 3-6-1 ATS.  They enter this second game against UCLA after a back to back matchup with the Arizona State Sun Devils.  These battles are coming fast and furious to make up for earlier postponements in the season for the Pac-12.  The Wildcats are roasting the same Pac-12 that UCLA is… they just don’t have the muscle to take the Bruins and they have so far managed to dodge Oregon and USC.

UCLA Bruins vs Arizona Wildcats Preview and Analysis

RECENT FORM

UCLA is 16-2 on the season, but 9-8-1 ATS.  They have logged 8 Overs and 10 Unders.  They are a dominant 5-0 in road games.

Arizona is 17-2 on the season, but 11-7-1 ATS.  They have notched 10 Overs and 9 Unders.  They are a dominant 11-0 in home games.

OFFENSIVE ANALYSIS

The Bruins are 40th in the nation in scoring with 78 ppg, 76th in rebounds with 34.6 per game, and 13th in AST/TO ratio with 1.5.  They are shooting 45.6% FG, 35.4% 3PT, and 71.8% FT.  They need to get those free throw numbers up, it’s called the charity stripe for a reason.  They excel on defense where they rank 51st while allowing a stingy 63.9 ppg from opponents.

The Wildcats are 3rd in the nation in scoring with 86 ppg, 1st in rebounds with 40.7 per game and 11th in AST/TO ratio with 1.5.  They are shooting 48%FG, 33.1% 3PT%, and 73.3% FT.  They also have a tough defense where they rank 68th while allowing 64.5 ppg from opponents.

UCLA Bruins vs Arizona Wildcats Prediction

Our prediction for Wednesday, February 3rd is…  Bruins 76 - Wildcats 67

The Bruins do not shrink on the road.  They are too good.  Arizona has slightly better shooting numbers across the board, but UCLA simply has better players.  UCLA is in it to win it all and are getting there with a massive chip on their shoulder. This will be closer than last game if Johnny Juzang doesn’t make it back from Covid isolation in time for the trip, but UCLA will prevail nonetheless. Vegas has assigned a lot of value to Johnny Juzang and Jaime Jaquez Jr (Questionable) missing this game… but I wouldn’t fall for it.  Bet UCLA and take the free points.
