UAB vs Liberty Prediction

The current betting odds have Liberty listed as a 6 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Liberty just had a very close win in their last game but they came away with the win in OT and they still moved the ball well on offense. They lost Malik Willis to the NFL this year but they have filled the hole and will be looking to pick up where they left off last year. Liberty also crushed this UAB team last year on the road and now they get to be at home for this game. UAB didn't have a great season last year as they fell to UTSA in their division and did not even end up in their conference finals. They were so bad at the beginning of the year they had to fire their coach and now have a new system here under 1st year head coach Vincent. UAB looked good in their last game but it will be a lot harder for them to move the ball here on the road against a better team and they will not be able to throw the ball on this defense like they have been doing. Liberty will keep this game very close with a chance to win it themselves here in their home opener. The best way to place a bet here is on Liberty to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

"I'm a routine guy, all the way up to the night before the game, how we play about the game in our minds as a staff. It's like a rehearsal going into it. Everything is kind of on point, just staying in our routine of what we do here, what we've done here. All of our traditions, all of our routines here, it's the same." - Bryant Vincent on his team’s preparation coming into this season.

“Excited to work with JB, Kaidon, Nate, and Kent (Austin) to try and figure it all out as to what gives us the best chance to win football games, that’s what this week has been about offensively. I’ve got a game plan for all three. I’ve got a game plan for Nate, game plan for JB, game plan for Kaidon. We’re still working through exactly what that might look like.” - Hugh Freeze on his QB situation for this week.
