Troy vs Appalachian State Prediction

The current betting odds have Appalachian State listed as a 12 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. App State just had a massive win in their last game, stealing a win from Texas A&M on the road and they played a great game there. They lost their season opener in a very close 63-61 loss against North Carolina, but their defense responded in their last game holding Texas A&M to just 14 points on their own field, and they will be looking to repeat that performance here at home in this 1st conference matchup. Troy doesn't have a very good program, they are never really a team that competes for a title and they are already off to a 1-1 start this year with their 1 win coming against an FCS team. App State is a team that is always in contention to win the Sun Belt title and that will be on their minds in this game now that the conference schedule is starting for them. They have shown they have the offense that can put up over 60 points in a game but their last game showed what their defense can be as well, and now in their 3rd game at home here they should be able to put it all together with a great offensive showing and another good defensive performance. The best way to place a bet here is on Appalachian State to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“It’s frustrating for us. I do think some of it is we’re trying to play the game, maybe, a little bit different than some of these young men have played it from a physicality and just the style we want to play with on the O-line. We want to take the fight to the other team and we’re not quite there yet.” - Jon Sumrall on his team’s disappointing run game so far.

"The key was belie. You have to believe in yourself and believe in this program. I told them take the logo off of the helmet, take the logo off the field and let's go play football." - Shawn Clark after his team’s win against Texas A&M in their last game.
