Maple Leafs - Predators preview, prediction and analysis

On March 26, 2023, the Toronto Maple Leafs will travel to Bridgestone Arena to take on the Nashville Predators in what promises to be an exciting matchup between two talented teams.

The Maple Leafs, who currently sit third in the Atlantic Division with a record of 43-20-9 , have had a solid season thus far. They have been led by Auston Matthews, and Mitch Marner having tremendous seasons.

The Predators, on the other hand, have had a bit of a rough season, currently sitting sixth in the Central Division with a record of  36-27-8. However, they have been playing better hockey of late and will be looking to continue their recent success against the Maple Leafs.

When these two teams met earlier in the season, the Maple Leafs came away with a 5-2 victory. Matthews was the standout player in that game, scoring two goals and adding an assist, while Marner also contributed with two assists.

Heading into this matchup, the Maple Leafs will be looking to continue their strong play and solidify their position in the playoff race. For the Predators, a win would help them continue their recent success and potentially make a late-season push for a playoff spot.

One key matchup to watch in this game will be between Matthews and Predators defenseman Roman Josi. Josi has been one of the Predators' top defenders this season, with 50 points and a plus-23 rating in 72 games. However, he will have his hands full trying to contain Matthews, who has been one of the most dominant players in the league this season.

Another matchup to watch will be between Maple Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov and Predators goaltender Juuse Saros.

Overall, this game promises to be an exciting matchup between two talented teams. With Matthews and Marner leading the way for the Maple Leafs and Josi and Saros leading the way for the Predators, fans can expect a high-energy game with plenty of scoring chances. The Maple Leafs will be looking to continue their success and build momentum heading into the playoffs, while the Predators will be looking to make a late-season push for a playoff spot.
