Summer Day Baseball Games.  Can’t beat em’.  Get the kids in the station wagon, hit the stadium with a few dollops of sunscreen… watch a game… pig out on junk food and sodas.  Relive the days of your dad doing this with you. Nothing better. Unless the game is being played at Oakland Coliseum… where no one else will be.  Where they have shut down a lot of the concession stands because no fans are coming to watch the worst team in baseball.  The only good thing about a ticket to an A’s game is of course:  You can sit anywhere you want!  So if you are a Blue Jays fan in Oakland.. Come out to the park and sit front row for the price of a nosebleed seat.  If you are anyone else the only reason to briefly look in on this game during the day is to see how your bet is doing…. That’s right.  The most reliable ticket in betting can often be simply betting against the worst team.  Sure the payoff on the money line will be smaller… but the better team winning is statistically the most likely outcome.  The free money is there for the taking…. Now I know what you are saying and or thinking?,., The Oakland Athletics won Game 1 of this series on July 4th 5-1.  Yes that did happen, and we lost a bet.  It also doesn’t change the fact that statistically the Blue Jays will beat the A’s… It also will bring the moneyline closer to a better return.  So accept that losing some is part of a winning betting strategy.  Don’t chase… just keep plowing forward.

The Toronto Blue Jays are a quality American League East team.  The numbers show yet again (like last season) a potent offense that needs more pitching.  The Blue Jays can hit the ball and score some runs.  The idea that they missed the boat on signing a load of quality starting pitchers last offseason has left them looking up at the runaway Yankees from 11-12 games back… and they are in 2nd PLACE!!  Still they have everything any team needs to beat the pitiful A’s 9 out of ten times.  Don't avoid this betting line because of the small return. The Jays will win and give you a small return.  The Blue jays have only won 4 of their last 10 games… which is why the A’s are such a welcome sight across the diamond.

The Oakland Athletics are garbage.  It doesn’t start with the players… the ownership group of the team simply does not want to be in Oakland… nor do they ever spend money on big time players.  The A’s are a joke.  The running question is when will they wind up in Las Vegas? For the MLB moving the A’s from Oakland to Las Vegas would be a travesty… It would ruin two markets forever at the same time.  They have won just 3 of their last 10 games… for the A’s winning 3 of 10 is actually a good ten game stretch.  They went 1-2 against the Seattle Mariners, 0-3 against the New York Yankees, 2-1 against the Kansas City Royals and 0-1 against the Seattle Mariners.

Toronto Blue Jays vs Oakland Athletics Prediction

Our prediction for Wednesday July 6th is… Blue Jays 5 - A’s 2

Bet on the Blue Jays… Again.  Any bet against the A’s this season is the proper bet.  They are on pace to set an all-time record for low attendance… and to win a pitifully small number of games.

MLB Betting Trends

Oakland is 7-21 when the total is 7 or less this season.
Oakland is 1-10 as a home underdog of +125 - +175 this season.
Toronto is 1081 - 821 as a favorite of -110 or higher since 1997.

Players to Watch

Blue Jays: RHP Jose Berrios, 6-4, 5.72 ERA, 67 strikeouts in 83 innings pitched.  1.43 WHIP.  Jose Berrios is a chump with bad numbers this season… but statistically he is about even with the A’s pitcher and has a slightly better bullpen and more run support.

Athletics: RHP, James Kaprelian, 1-5, 5.43 ERA, 40 strikeouts in 58 innings pitched.  1.38 WHIP.  James is a young guy with a losing record, a bad ERA, and a poor WHIP… but we have no idea if he is good but supported by a bad team… or bad and holding his bad team down.  This is the A’s.  We can spend all day wondering about the chicken or egg with these young pitchers?

Managers

Blue Jays: Charlie “I look like this all the time” Montoyo
Athletics: Mark “It’s a paying gig” Kotsay
