Texas vs Oklahoma Prediction

The current betting odds have Texas listed as a 7.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Texas has looked great in their games this season with their 4-0 record overall and their 1-0 conference record which has them right near the top of the SEC. They haven't played any neutral site games this season and will be playing their first one here. Meanwhile, Oklahoma hasn't looked good in their games this season with their 2-2 record overall and their 0-1 conference record which has them right near the bottom of the SEC. They will be playing their first neutral site game of the year here. Oklahoma has had a terrible start to the season and now it looks like they could be heading for a disaster year. They were ranked inside the top 25 entering the season, but they have looked so bad that they are no longer ranked. They are coming off a 41-13 loss to Georgia in their last one and even though they do have a great defense, their offense has looked terrible. They have had a lot of trouble just moving the ball and they aren't going to have it any easier here against the 1st ranked team in the nation with one of the best defenses too. Texas is coming off a 20-17 win over Tennessee in their last one and they didn't look great in that win, but that score is also a lot closer than the game actually was. Texas was in control of that game and they also have the best win of the season with a 24-23 comeback win against Ohio State. The offense hasn't looked great, but they will get better as the season goes on. They also have an elite defense that isn't going to give up much here with how bad that Oklahoma offense has looked. This is a great opportunity for Texas to beat up on Oklahoma while they are down and show why they are the best team in the nation. The best way to place a bet here is on Texas to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“It's just kind of a little bit of a tradition here at Tennessee, so we had cigars or somebody had cigars in there. I’m not certain. So my suit’s probably going to stink whenever I get on the plane.” - Steve Sarkisian after his team’s win against Tennessee in their last game.

“To compete and win the game, obviously the number one priority is taking care of the football and certainly we failed miserably in doing that. We've got to get out of our own way and give ourselves an opportunity without being careless with the football at the end of the day.” - Brent Venables after his team’s loss against Georgia in their last game.
