Texas vs Alabama Prediction

The current betting odds have Alabama listed as a 7.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Alabama looked really good in their season opener as they rolled Middle Tennessee State and didn't really let them score a point until the game was almost over. That Saban defense is back and they are running a completely different offense this season with a heavy emphasis on running the ball. Texas also won their season opener at home but they struggled at times to put up points in that game as Rice held them to field goals on multiple occasions and now they go on the road against one of the best teams in the country where they are going to need touchdowns to win and not field goals. Texas almost beat Alabama last season but this game is in Tuscaloosa now and this is a very different Alabama team that they saw a year ago. Alabama is back and they are going to roll the tide all over Texas in this home game. The best way to place a bet here is on Alabama to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“We balanced it by staying focused on what we need to do. One of the things in these games that people always want us to talk about is the opponent, and we got a good opponent we understand that. They’re well coached, they’re a good team.” - Steve Sarkisian on his team’s upcoming game against Alabama.

“I think the players kind of delivered. They had good energy and enthusiasm to start the game. So I was really happy with the way that we came out and played in this game. So they kind of answered the bell the way we wanted them to. There’s always some little bit of shotty areas that you obviously need to clean up, which we certainly have a few of those, and we’ll work on it.” - Nick Saban after his team’s win against Middle Tennessee State in their last game.
