Tennessee Titans Analysis

The Titans are coming into this game with a 2-1 record overall and they are 1-0 in their road games this season where they will be in this game. They had a bad start to their season with a home loss to the Arizona Cardinals but they have since bounced back with straight wins over the Seattle Seahawks on the road in an overtime nail biter, and against the Indianapolis Colts in their last game. Ryan Tannehill did struggle in their last game as he completed 18/27 passes for 197 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Derrick Henry had a nice day on the ground though as he led the team in rushing with 113 yards on 28 carries. The receiving corps had a quiet day as Nick Westbrook led the team in receiving with 53 yards and 1 touchdown on 4 receptions while Julio Jones onle racked up 47 receiving yards on 3 receptions. David Long led Tennessee’s defense in that game with 5 solo tackles and 3 assisted ones. Olasunkanmi Adeniyi led the defense in sacks with 1.5 while Harold Landry also recorded 0.5 sacks but no one on the defense came away with an interception in that one. They have scored 71 points in their first 3 games and they have allowed their opponents to score 84 points against them. Their offense has accumulated 1,148 yards this season while their defense has allowed 1,078 yards against them.

New York Jets Analysis

The Jets are coming into this game with a winless 0-3 record overall and they are 0-1 in their home games where they will be in this game. They have opened up their season with 3 straight losses to the Carolina Panthers, the New England Patriots, and the Denver Broncos. Zach Wilson struggled a lot in their last game as he completed 19/35 passes for 160 yards and 2 interceptions. They had no run game in that one as Michael Carter led the team in rushing with 24 yards on 9 carries. The receiving corps also had a quiet day as Corey Davis led them in receiving with 41 yards on 5 receptions. Overall, it was an awful day for the Jets offense as they were shut out completely in that game. Marcus Maye played well on the defense as he led them with 7 solo tackles and 2 assisted ones while Quincy Williams was right behind him with 6 solo tackles. Quinnen Williams led the defense in sacks with 1.5 while Bryce Huff also recorded 0.5 sacks in that game. No one on the defense came up with an interception though. They have scored 20 points in their first 3 games and they have allowed their opponents to score 70 points against them. Their offense has accumulated 750 yards this season while their defense has allowed 985 yards against them.

Titans vs Jets Prediction

The Jets have struggled to score on offense all season with just 20 total points in 3 games on their three-game losing streak. Their offense has actually gotten worse as the season has gone on as they had 14 points in their first game, 6 points in the game after that, and are now coming off of a game where they were shut out completely, scoring 0 points. They are a big underdog in this game. The Titans are coming off of a divisional game where they scored 25 points in a game that ended up staying under the total. Until the Jets start to move the ball better on offense and score points, they are not going to be a competitive team in the NFL. The Titans are on the road here and will likely not score a whole lot of points that completely blows the Jets out of the water. This game will be a low scoring one where the Jets will struggle to score and move the ball while the Titans will feel no real need to score over 30 points. The best bet to make in this game is on the under.

NFL Betting Trends

Tennessee Titans: 214-183 O/U in all games. 57-41 O/U as a favorite of 3.5 to 9.5 points.
New York Jets: 217-237 ATS in all games. 106-119 ATS in home games.

Key Injuries

Tennessee Titans:  A. Brown (WR) Ques Sun - Hamstring injury. D. Roberson (LB) day-to-day - Groin injury. C. Farley (CB) day-to-day - Shoulder injury.
New York Jets:  E. Moore (WR) day-to-day - Concussion injury. T. Kroft (TE) day-to-day - Ribs injury. L. Perine (RB) day-to-day - Foot injury.

Players to Watch

Tennessee Titans: Derrick Henry is one player to watch in this matchup. He always comes to play his best and he is a big running back that can just power through players and do what he wants. The Jets will likely not have the ball a lot here so look for Henry to get a lot of carries to wear this defense down and extend their drives on offense.

New York Jets: Zach Wilson is one player to watch in this game. He was not able to do much in their last game in Denver and he will be looking to bounce back with a better performance here. With an offense that does not have a lot of talent or weapons to work with it will be up to him to make the big plays so keep an eye on him in this game.
