Rays vs Orioles Prediction

The current betting odds have the Rays listed as a slight favorite in this game. The Rays were playing very well going into the break and they came out with a win as well but then lost their last game against the Royals. The Royals have not been great this season either but the Rays will be hungry to bounce back in this game and they are getting a great spot to do so. They were the team to snap the Orioles 10 game winning streak, winning their 3-game series against them right before the break. Now the Rays are facing them again here and they should be able to beat up on them like they have in their recent games. The Orioles just played the Yankees and they did play well in that series but they also allowed a lot of runs and they do not have a good starter in this game. Voth is starting here and he has been awful in both his starts and relief appearances, allowing a lot of runs in his appearances all season. The Rays have Kluber starting here and he has been very reliable all season but has also been pitching well in his recent starts. He also has a great bullpen that has been pitching well to back him up here and they should stunt the Orioles offense here which has been cooling off in recent games anyway. The best way to place a bet here is on the Rays to win this game.

Notable Quotes

"It was unfortunate because (Yarbrough) did give us a chance right there. I liked the matchup with all the lefties they had loaded up there and the one righty they pinch hit for kind of came back to bite us." - Kevin Cash after his team’s loss against the Royals on Saturday.

"Gerrit Cole is a great pitcher. I was really pleased with our at-bats early even though we didn't score any runs. We made him work. We had a couple of chances and we didn't score. We finally got to him, and as an ace does, he stayed out there and we were fortunate to tie it with him out there." - Brandon Hyde after his team’s win against the Yankees on Saturday.
