Syracuse Orange Analysis

Syracuse is coming into this game with a 3-1 record overall and they are 1-0 in their road games this season where they will be in this game. This will be their first conference matchup on their schedule this year. Their 1 loss came against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights while their 3 wins came against the Ohio Bobcats, the Albany Great Danes, and against Liberty in their last game. Garrett Shrader did not play well in their last game as he completed 6/15 passes for 77 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. Sean Tucker had a massive day on the ground in that one as he led the team in rushing with 169 yards and 1 touchdown on 32 carries. Shrader had 53 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground himself but other than them, no one else did much in the run game. Tucker was also the leading receiver in that game with 27 yards on 2 receptions in what was a very quiet day for the receiving corps. Mikel Jones led the defense with 8 solo tackles and 1 sack while Cody Roscoe was right behind him with 6 solo tackles and 2 sacks in that game. Marlowe Max also came away from that game with 2 sacks but no one on the defense was able to get an interception. They have scored 122 points in their first 4 games and they have allowed their opponents to score 71 points against them. Their offense is averaging 392.8 YPG while their defense is allowing 261.3 YPG.

Syracuse vs Florida State Prediction

FSU is coming into this game as a favorite yet they are winless this season and now have their backs against the wall being down in the conference too. Syracuse is feeling good after getting an upset win in their last game and are coming in with that positive winning record and a clean slate in the conference right now. The pressure is on FSU to win their first game here at home and with the way they have been playing this year, that will only lead to mistakes on the field. The best bet to place in this game is on Syracuse to cover the spread and win this game straight up in an upset as they have been playing like the better team recently.

Players to Watch

Syracuse Orange: Sean Tucker is one player to watch here. He leads his team in rushing yards, receiving yards, and in touchdowns scored. He is the entire offense on this team so if they plan on winning this game and putting up a good fight then they will be looking to get the ball in his hands. He is coming off of a game where he had over 150 yards rushing as well and will be looking to carry over that great play.

Florida State Seminoles: Jashaun Corbin is one player to watch here. He leads his team in rushing yards and in touchdowns scored. He is coming off of a big game where he rushed for over 150 yards. If FSU wants to come away with their first win of the season here then he will be a big part in that so look for him to have a good game here.
