The Stanford Cardinal are coming into this college football game sitting in 6th place of the Pac-12 North NCAA division with a 0-1 record. This will be the first of their football games in their conference schedule. They lost their season opener to Kansas State 24-7. Tanner McKee played an alright game at the quarterback position completing 15/18 passes for 118 yards and 1 touchdown. Jack West did not play a good game though as he completed 8/12 passes for 76 total yards passing and 2 interceptions. They had absolutely no running game at all as they were led by Austin Jones with 25 rushing yards on 9 carries. Their receiving was ok but no one player really stood out. Brycen Tremayne led the team in receiving with 62 yards and 1 touchdown. Only 1 other receiver got above 50 yards and none scored a touchdown pass. Ricky Miezan led the team on defense with 7 solo tackles and 1 assisted tackle. Dalyn Wade-Perry, Tucker Fisk, and Stephon Herron all recorded 1 sack each while Kyu Blu Kelly came up with the 1 interception for them in the game. This team has had some trouble with penalties though and will need to be more disciplined moving forward.

The Southern California Trojans have a rank of 14 on the AP poll and are coming into this Pac-12 football matchup of the football schedule sitting in 5th place of the Pac-12 South with a 1-0 record. They won their first FBS game of the season against San Jose State 30-7. Kedon Slovis had a great game in their last one as he completed 24/36 passes for 256 yards and 2 TDs. Keaontay Ingram led their team in rushing with 86 yards on 15 carries. Vavae Malepeai also played well rushing for 65 yards on 14 carries. Drake London had a huge game as he led his team in receiving with 137 yards on 12 receptions. Tahj Washington and Erik Krommenhoek both caught passes for a touchdown each. Calen Bullock led the defense with 4 solo tackles and 3 assists. Greg Johnson and Drake Jackson both came up with an interception each in that game.

USC is the much better team here and Stanford did not look too good in their first game. They lack a good run game which USC has and is just a more well-rounded team at every position that Stanford is. USC also has a great defense that will keep Stanford off the board quite a bit so the value here is on USC to cover the spread.

Stanford Cardinal: Tanner McKee is one player to watch in this game. He did not turn the ball over in their last game which will be important against a good trojans defense. No other players really stood out in that last game as their offense was mediocre at best. He will have to be the one who gets something going here for their offense or they do not stand a chance in this game.

 

USC Trojans: Drake London is one player to watch in this game. He had a monster game in his last one receiving for over 130 yards but he did not find the end zone in that game. He will be looking to put up the same numbers here but with a score on his stats as well. Look for him to make some big plays and get the ball in for a touchdown in this one.
