Blues - Red Wings preview, prediction and analysis

The St. Louis Blues and Detroit Red Wings are set to face off in what is sure to be an exciting match-up on March 23, 2023.

The Blues come into this game with a record of 38-21-8, with key players like David Perron, and Jordan Binnington leading the way.  Perron has also been a standout player, with 25 goals and 32 assists in 67 games. Binnington has been solid in net for the Blues, with a save percentage of .913 and a goals against average of 2.45.

On the other side of the ice, the Red Wings have been led by captain Dylan Larkin, who has 22 goals and 28 assists in 67 games. Lucas Raymond has also been a key contributor for the Red Wings, with 18 goals and 26 assists in 67 games.

Both teams will be looking to secure a win in this game, as they both vie for playoff positions. The Blues have their sights set on a division title and a deep playoff run, while the Red Wings are hoping to make a surprise push for the playoffs.

One area to watch in this game will be special teams. The Blues have the second-best power play in the league, with a success rate of 25.5%, while the Red Wings have struggled on the penalty kill, with a success rate of only 77.8%. The Red Wings will need to tighten up their penalty kill if they hope to slow down the Blues' lethal power play.

Another factor to keep an eye on will be the physicality of the game. Both teams have players who are not afraid to throw their weight around and play a physical style of hockey. The Blues have a few players in particular, like Brayden Schenn and Robert Bortuzzo, who are known for their physicality and are not afraid to drop the gloves if necessary. The Red Wings will need to match the Blues' physicality if they hope to come out on top.

Overall, this game has all the makings of an intense, hard-fought battle between two skilled and motivated teams. The Blues will be looking to continue their winning ways and maintain their position near the top of the division, while the Red Wings will be looking to make a statement and prove that they are a team to be reckoned with as the playoffs approach.
