South Carolina Gamecocks Analysis

South Carolina is coming into this game with a 4-3 record overall and they are 1-2 in their road games where they will be in this game. This will be their 5th conference matchup of the year and they are off to a very bad start as they are 1-3 in their conference games this season. Their 3 losses came against the Georgia Bulldogs, the Kentucky Wildcats, and the Tennessee Volunteers while their 1 win came against Vandy in their last game. They won that game in a very close one as they squeaked away with the win by just 1 point. Luke Doty really struggled in that game as he completed 17/27 passes for 242 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions before leaving the game with an injury and will now be out for the remainder of the season. Zeb Noland came in to take over and he led them to victory completing 5/8 passes for 75 yards and the winning touchdown. Zaquandre White led the team in rushing with 65 yards on 12 carries in that game. Jaheim Bell had a very nice day as he led the receivers with 136 yards and 1 touchdown on 6 receptions. Josh Vann had 3 catches for 44 yards in that one. R.J. Roderick led the defense with 6 solo tackles while Jaylan Foster was right behind him with 5 solo tackles and 1 assisted one. Zacch Pickens and Kingsley Enagbare both had 1 sack each in that game while no one on the defense was able to come up with an interception. They have scored 153 points in their 7 games this season averaging 21.9 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 152 points against them allowing 21.7 PPG. Their offense is averaging 349.1 YPG while their defense is allowing 324.3 YPG.

Texas A&M Aggies Analysis

Texas A&M is coming into this game with a 5-2 record overall and they are 3-1 in their home games this season where they will be in this game. This will be the 5th conference matchup on their schedule this year and they are already off to a bad start with a 2-2 record in their conference games this season. Their 2 losses came against the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Mississippi State Bulldogs while their 2 wins came against the Alabama Crimson Tide and against Mizzou in their last game. They dominated that game from the start taking a 21 point lead in the 1st quarter and never looking back. They are now on a 2 game winning streak coming into this game. Zach Calzada did not play that great in that game as he completed 13/25 passes for 148 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Isaiah Spiller had a great day on the ground as he led the team in rushing with 168 yards and 1 touchdown on 20 carries while Devon Achane was right behind him with a great day himself rushing for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns on 16 carries. Ainias Smith led the receivers with 34 yards catching the only 2 touchdown passes on 3 receptions in what was a very quiet day for the receiving corps as the ground game took over that one. Edgerrin Cooper led the defense with 7 solo tackles and 1 assisted one while Aaron Hansford was right behind with 7 solo tackles. Demarvin Leal and Tyree Johnson had the only sacks in that game for the defense with 1 each while Antonio Johnson Jr. and Jaylon Jones both came away with 1 interception each in the game. They have scored 193 points in their 7 games this season averaging 27.6 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 115 points against them allowing 16.4 PPG. Their offense is averaging 384.7 YPG while their defense is allowing 350.6 YPG.

South Carolina vs Texas A&M Prediction

The point total is set at 45 in this game with the current betting odds according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Both of these teams have not been allowing many points this season but Texas A&M actually does have a good defense on their side while South Carolina has just faced bad teams all year that do not score a lot on them. Texas A&M scored 41 points alone in their win over Alabama and then in what seemed to be a clesar let down spot, they followed up with another big win scoring 35 points in that game. Texas A&M will be able to score a lot of points on South Carolina as they have a lot more talent and are trying to prove that their upset over the 1st ranked team in the nation was not just  a fluke. The best bet to place in this game is on the over as Texas A&M could very well score the 45 points themselves here.

Players to Watch

South Carolina Gamecocks: Josh Vann is one player to watch in this contest. He leads his team in receiving yards and in touchdowns scored this season. He is coming off of a game where he did not lead them in receiving or find the end zone in that game. He will be looking to play much better in this game and they will need him here if they plan on putting up a good fight in this game as a 20 point underdog.

Texas A&M Aggies: Isaiah Spiller is one player to watch here. He led his team in rushing yards this season and he is coming off of a massive game where he had over 150 yards rushing. He was a big force as their ground game really controlled their last one and they will be looking to win this one with their running game as well so look for him to get a lot of touches and rip off some big runs in this game.
