We’re coming down the home stretch of the NFL season and there’s still a lot left to get excited for on your TV screen (or your streaming device if you’re like me and watch Sunday Ticket on a Fire Stick. That works, too). Nevertheless, the final few weeks of the regular season are going to be hectic for everyone on the field, but just as much as everyone off it. You’re probably going to need to figure out which plays are the best ones in terms of teams sitting the star players for the playoff advantage, or which teams are going all in for the final playoff push. If you need that extra push, trust that our champion handicappers can get the job done for you. Matt Fargo has a 17-9-0 run over the last 30 days in the NFL. Brian Bitler has continued to stay consistent, despite a wild, unpredictable season, by going 16-9-0. Do you want a piece of this action? Seahawks - Chiefs preview, analysis and prediction

Last week
Seahawks: lost 21-13 vs. 49ers (Thursday night)
Chiefs: won 30-24 at Texans (OT)

Seahawks analysis

Four losses in five games, and it’s all but over for the Seattle Seahawks if they lose one more game. That is likely going to happen this week with Kansas City on the horizon. But it’s not just the fact that the Seahawks have been losing. Seattle has failed to cover in five straight with three of them by at least five points or more.

Seattle has also been favored in three of those five games and the over has cashed in three. So, basically, we’re not sure what kind of team we’re getting right now with Seattle. Their playoff hopes are hanging by a thread after losing 21-13 to the San Francisco 49ers last Thursday.

Geno Smith threw it back to his old days by throwing 44 times for just 238 yards and a touchdown. Kenneth Walker ran the ball just 12 times, which meant the San Francisco defense was dominating that game all night long to the point where balance didn’t exist.

The Seahawks are still alive in the hunt for a playoff spot. After this week comes two winnable games against the New York Jets and Los Angeles Rams at home. But there’s not really any semblance of hope right now if they can’t figure out how to close out games.

Chiefs analysis

Well, you might not find a worse team against the spread the last month and a half than the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite winning seven of eight since that loss to the Buffalo Bills on Oct. 16, the Chiefs have gone 1-6-1 in their last eight against the spread. It’s been a nightmare picking the Chiefs on the books.

Last Sunday’s effort wasn’t any better as 14.5-point favorites against the Houston Texans, but Kansas City let the Texans hang around long enough to get this to overtime. The Chiefs eventually won to clinch another AFC West championship.

Funny thing is, Patrick Mahomes had a tremendously efficient game by going 36 of 41 for 336 yards and two touchdowns. His running game even gave him more than 180 rushing yards on the ground. Sometimes, football is not made to make sense.

The important thing here is the Chiefs are winning games and are looking ready for another deep playoff run. Whether or not that can translate to another deep playoff run remains to be seen. The Bengals and Bills are still alive and kicking, and very much challenging KC to that top spot.

Prediction

The 9.5 is very serviceable heading into this matchup, and I think the Chiefs are very much in control enough to win by two scores and rack up another win. Asking Seattle to go into KC and win a game might be too much right now. Chiefs by 14
