Mariners vs Padres Prediction

The current betting odds have the Padres listed as a slight favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Padres haven't been good this season with their record being under .500 but the Mariners haven't been any better with a losing record too. Both teams were expected to be a lot better this season with those strong batting lineups but so far both offenses have been really bad this season. The Padres are starting to get hot now though as they have been playing better in their last few games and they will be looking to get on a big run as they are playing in a really tough division. They will be able to take advantage of this pitching matchup with Kirby starting for the Mariners as he has been good but he is still inexperienced in his 2nd MLB season and the Padres do have a very strong batting lineup that is starting to put up more runs in their games lately. The Padres will be a very dangerous team if their offense starts to wake up and Wacha has also been a really underrated starter over the last 2 seasons as he leads the Padres rotation in wins this season and is also coming off a season where he was just as good if not better. Wacha will have a good outing against this Mariners offense that hasn't been doing much in their games lately and the Padres offense should get a spark in this game too. The best way to place a bet here is on the Padres to win this game.

Notable Quotes

“We’re not playing winning baseball against top-flight teams. It’s one of the best offenses we’ve seen all year. Ton of credit there. And on the flip side, we didn’t pitch our best, or play our best, in this series.” - Scott Servais after his team’s loss against the Rangers in their game on Sunday.

“He's been unbelievable, offensively, behind the plate. The running game's kind of been shut down some with his arm strength, he's caught guys he's never caught before and done a great job with them. Quick learning curve with him. He's fit right in from the day he got here. This one hopefully is a really great pickup for us and has been so far.” - Bob Melvin after his team’s win against the Cubs in their game on Monday.
