Kraken - Predators preview, prediction and analysis

As the NHL regular season nears its end, every game becomes crucial for teams fighting for playoff spots. On March 23, 2023, the Seattle Kraken will host the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena in what promises to be an exciting clash.

Both teams have had an up-and-down season so far, with the Kraken currently sitting at fourth place in the Pacific Division, while the Predators are in fifth place in the Central Division.

The Kraken have had a particularly difficult time scoring goals this season, with an average of just 2.6 per game. To address this issue, they acquired veteran centerman Tyler Seguin from the Dallas Stars before the trade deadline. Seguin has yet to make a significant impact since joining the team, but his presence has brought a much-needed boost of experience to the Kraken's lineup.

On the other hand, the Predators have been a more potent offensive team, scoring an average of 3.1 goals per game. They have relied heavily on their top line of Filip Forsberg, Ryan Johansen, and Viktor Arvidsson, who have combined for 56 goals and 68 assists so far this season. However, their secondary scoring has been inconsistent, and they will need their depth players to step up if they want to secure a playoff spot.

In terms of head-to-head matchups, the Kraken and Predators have only played each other once this season, with the Predators coming out on top 4-2 in Nashville. However, both teams have undergone significant changes since that game, so it's difficult to predict how the rematch will play out.

One area where the Kraken may have an advantage is in the goaltending department. Their starting goaltender, Philipp Grubauer, has been solid this season, posting a .918 save percentage and a 2.51 goals-against average.

Ultimately, this game could have significant playoff implications for both teams. The Kraken are currently six points behind the fourth-place Los Angeles Kings in the Pacific Division, while the Predators are just three points ahead of the fifth-place Winnipeg Jets in the Central Division. A win for either team could be a massive boost to their playoff hopes, while a loss could be a devastating blow.

In summary, the March 23 matchup between the Seattle Kraken and Nashville Predators promises to be an exciting and hard-fought battle. Both teams will be looking to secure a crucial win as they push towards the playoffs, and it will be interesting to see which team comes out on top.
