What an electric start to the NHL season. So much parity, so many good teams through the first 10-plus games, you have every right to be excited! Of course the Vegas Golden Knights and Boston Bruins (and the New Jersey Devils?) are heading the fun charge here as the top two teams in the league, because of course they are. But never count out the Avalanche, you know they're always going to be hanging around and will be eating worlds once they get everyone healthy. But this is a good time to be playing these hockey games, as well. Look no further than our own Doc's Sports on a 14-7-0 run over the first 30 days of the NHL season. There's also ASA, Inc. posting a 12-5-1 mark through the first month. You know you can trust our champion handicappers to get you across the finish line with your NHL bets. Kraken - Kings preview, prediction and analysis

Recent results
Kraken: won 5 straight; won 5-4 at Ducks on Sunday
Kings: lost 3-2 (OT) vs. Senators on Sunday

I don't know if it's going to happen this year, or next year, or any other year after that. But I think we can definitively say that for the first time ever, welcome to the Seattle Kraken era. That actually has a really awesome ring to it and I think it should probably stick in some capacity whether they win or lose because right now, as things stand, this is a very fun playoff team and I sincerely hope that it finishes the way that the standings are incorporated right now to where Vegas finishes first in Seattle finishes second and if both teams end up winning their first-round series we have a divisional semifinal matchup between the two newest teams in the NHL and I want that so bad from my mantra.

Seattle is coming into this game against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday having won five in a row and just when you think that Seattle can't impress anymore than it does how about hanging with the pesky Anaheim Ducks and winning 5-4 in the fashion that it did? Matty Beniers had a goal and two assists and I keep telling y'all at some point he is going to become my favorite player in the league just because of where he came from how he's playing and who he's playing with period Seattle is such a fun team, I have no idea how in the world they keep finding ways to win because when we're releasing the Kraken, part of that has nothing to do with Martin Jones winning ten games nor did it have anything to do with Philipp Grubauer coming back from injury and looking like the guy that they're paying 5 to $6 million from.

But alas here is Seattle sitting comfortably with a five-game winning streak and looking so good and all facets. They are a fast team, they are a sometimes strong team, and they also know how to find the back of the net. Look no further than Beniers Putting up nine points in the last five games with Andre Burakovsky scoring three goals in that stretch. The latter, I'm telling you, might go down as the most underrated free-agent signing of this entire season. What that guy is doing at scoring goals at the rate that he is doing, has to feel really good for Seattle. You can make the argument that the only thing they lacked last year through their expansion draft run was not enough goal-scoring. They've got goal-scoring now and they are using it to their full advantage.

One team that is not putting it all together in terms of their full advantage just so happens to be Seattle's opponent for this game period because every time I watch Los Angeles and I keep thinking that they're going to find a way to flip this league on its head and start winning some games in a more dominant rate, they choose not to. Instead what the kings will bring into this game against Seattle, having lost four of its last five with the latest being an overtime loss to the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on Sunday night. By the way, if you have not gone and seen Tim Stutzle’s ridiculous pass from behind the goal line to a cutting Claude Giroux for the breakaway overtime winner, get out of the rock from which you live in and go watch it because it is worth it.

The Kings lost a very winnable game and have now done that twice in the last four games. The other time just so happens to be at Climate Pledge Arena when Seattle won 3-2 to further kickstart the beginning of this winning streak. I don't know if it's going to last, but I'm absolutely here for the Seattle renaissance and I really needed in my life.

Prediction

Anybody can say that they can go out and have a good game, but I legit believe Seattle when it says every time that they enter the party, it doesn't stop until they walk in. Seattle is on a mission to show that it is for real and we might not get a full clear view of this until game 41, but you know going into game 22 and the fact that there are only a few points back of Vegas for the top spot in the division, you will take that every single time. Kraken win 4-2
