Season Record

Bears: 3-4 (NFC North)
49ers: 2-4 (NFC West)

It’s wrong to say that this is a matchup of the two most disappointing teams in the NFL.  It’s wrong to say that each of these teams has a head coach that underestimated what they needed for the season.  Jimmy Garoppolo vs Justin Fields is also wrong to say because both these teams have so much more wrong that is contributing to the losing record.  The Niners are preparing this team for rookie Trey Lance (who is injured) to take over.  The Bears were trying to prepare rookie quarterback Justin Fields to take over, but Matt Nagy didn’t really prepare for him at all.  Neither is a Super Bowl team this year.  The 49ers vs Bears is about who will save face during an NFL game to avoid the Monday morning talk radio.

San Francisco 49ers vs Chicago Bears Preview and Analysis

Recent Form
The 49ers have beaten two teams this year.  The Detroit Lions 41-33 and the Philadelphia Eagles 17-11.  They have since gone on a four-game losing streak.  The Green Bay Packers beat them 30-28, the Seattle Seahawks beat them 28-21, the Arizona Cardinals beat them 17-10, the Indianapolis Colts beat them 30-18.  The losing is here and doesn’t seem to want to ever leave.  Hot Shot coach Kyle Shanahan isn't actually prepared for any of this, he just has a famous last name.

The Bears have beaten three teams this year … The Cincinnati Bengals 20-17, the Detroit Lions 20-17, and the Las Vegas Raiders 20-9.  They have lost to the Los Angeles Rams 34-14, the Cleveland Browns 26-6, the Green Bay Packers 24-14, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38-3.

The team in common is the Detroit Lions who are historically bad.  The other team in common is the Green Bay Packers… they both lost.  Neither of these teams are any good.  One wool win.. Let’s make some money.

Offensive Analysis

The 49ers are 18th in offense in the NFL.  They have averaged 22.5 points per game and 353.5 yards per game.

The Chicago Bears are last in the NFl in offense!  They can’t seem to move the ball or score. 14.4 ppg on 255.4 ypg.  The offense is killing the defense.  The offense wil have the ball for three plays and then the defense (which was good) will have to spend another 5-7 minutes defending every quarter.  Yuck the Bears are bad.

Defensive Analysis

The Chicago Bears defense is actually playing great.  They aren’t a winning team in any way, but they are holding competition to 23.1 ppg on 341.9 ypg. It’s a waste really.  If the Cowboys or Rams had these numbers we would have different Super Bowl favorites.

The 49ers are listed as 6th on defense in the NFL… they allow 24.8 ppg on 324 ypg.  These aren’t great numbers except for the yardage.  They aren’t winning.

Key Injuries

49ers: S Jasquisky Tartt (knee) Out indefinitely ** LB Azeez Al-Shaair (concussion) Quest ** DL Dee Ford (concussion) Quest ** CB Emmanual Moseley (back) Probable) * Safety Marcell Harris (thumb) Quest ** DT Javon Kinlaw (knee) Quest ** T Trent Williams (ankle) Quest ** QB Trey Lance (knee) Quest

Bears: DE Kahlil Mack (foot) OUT ** DB Tashaun Gipson Sr (hip) Quest ** TE Jimmy Graham (covid-19) Quest ** LB Robert Quinn (undisclosed) Quest

Players to Watch

Who plays?  If Khalil Mack misses the game the Bears are not the same team.  If Trey Lance misses this game (he will) the 49ers are not the same team as the one in our fantasies.  If FRobert Quinn misses the same game as Khalil Mack then the Bears have almost no defense after the line.   Watch no one if they don’t show up.

Starting Lineups

49ers: QB Jimmy Garappolo, RB Elijah Mitchell, WR Deebo Samuel, WR Brandon Aiyuk, WR Mohamed Sanu Sr, TE Charlie Woerner, FB Kyle Juszczyk, LT Trent Williams (or Jaylon Moore), LG Laken Tomlinson, C Alex Mack, RG Daniel Bruskill, RT Mike McGlinchey

Bears: QB Justin Fields (or Nick Foles), RB Khalil Herbert, WR Allen Robinson II, WR Darnell Mooney, WR Marquise Goodwin, TE Cole Kmet, LT Jason Peters, LG Cody Whitehair, C Sam Mustipher, RG james Daniels, RT Elijah Wilkinson

Statistical Leaders

49ers
Passing Yards: Jimmy Garappolo 1,106
Rushing Yards: Elijah Mitchell 296
Receiving Yards: Deebo Samuel 648
Tackles: Fred Warner 45
Interceptions: D Greenlaw 1

Bears:
Passing yards: Juston fields 816
Rushing Yards: David Montgomery 309
Receiving Yards: Darnell Mooney 345
Tackles: Roquan Smith 45
Interceptions: Deandre Houston-Carson 1

Coaches:
49ers: Kyle Shanahan.  His dad was famous and rich… now he is.  I’m sure the two have nothing to do with each other.

Bears: Matt Nagy.  The place that the good lord split him is waiting for when the god lord will hit him.  Matt failed to prepare Justin Fields for the season.  Instead he prepared Andy Dalton who I could have told you would be injured by week 3.  The team is going nowhere… Matt should go somewhere.

Weather Forecast

Partly Cloudy. Humidity 60%.  Wind 14mph.   Yuck Chicago is windy and cold.
