Padres vs Yankees Prediction

The current betting odds have the Yankees listed as a slight underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Yankees have been really hot in their games lately as they are surging up the standings and trying to challenge the Rays for the lead of the AL East. Their pitching has been really good on this great run of theirs but their bats have also shown up when needed. The Padres haven't been good at all lately though and they have been struggling to get out of the gate since the season started as they have a record below .500. Their pitching hasn't been great in their games but even more so, their offense has been terrible this season when their lineup is filled with big hitters. Musgrove is getting the nod in this game but as good as he was last season, he hasn't carried that over in his few starts this year as he has been bad, giving up a ton of runs in his starts and his team not finding a lot of success with him on the mound either. The Yankees are going with Severino here and even though he hasn't pitched much this season, he was great in his 1 start and he will be looking to have a great season after missing so much time to injuries. Severino will keep this cold Padres offense down while the Yankees get some runs on Musgrove and the Padres bullpen which hasn't been great. The Yankees also have a great bullpen so the Padres offense will continue to struggle in this series. The best way to place a bet here is on the Yankees to win this game.
