A non-conference matchup between a terrible Western Conference team and a great Eastern Conference team.  The Kings made a big change this trade deadline.. They dropped their new, young, inexpensive best player for another team’s older more expensive best player.  It should work out for the Kings… everything else has.  The Bulls actually added a best player for a package of guys they didn’t want and picks that they didn’t need to make.  The difference in management style will be on full display in this game.  I’d like to say it will be close. But it won’t.  I’d like to say that the point spread could be covered but it won’t.

The Sacramento Kings have won 4 of their last ten games.  They beat the Washington Wizards, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Brooklyn Nets during the stretch in which James Harden was pouting and throwing games.  So, a literal usual suspects of other losing teams. The Kings went 6-4 ATS during that stretch.  The Kings leading scorer is De’Aaron Fox at 21.5 ppg… soon it will be Domantas Sabonis once he gets his feet set as a King… Then the Kings will have a long run with Fox and Sabonis tandem scoring while losing almost every game.  The Kings never stop being the Kings.

The Chicago Bulls are a really great team.  They were in the NBA cellar for almost two decades… nothing they tried seemed to work.  Then they woke up 2 years ago and realized that they are a major franchise playing in America’s 3rd biggest city.  They then turned over all the accumulated picks and unrealized young players (except a few) for actual fantastic players.   SF DeMar DeRozan just matched a FG% mark set by Shaquille O'Neal… he is scoring like a champ and he has some pretty great teammates around him.  The Bulls are on a 4 games winning streak.  They have won 7 of their last 10 games.  Losing to the Phoenix Suns, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Toronto Raptors… all while they were having severe roster impairment from injury.

The Bulls should be a runaway train against a team this bad.  Plus De’Aaron Fox for the Kings has not looked rejuvenated with the trade of Tyrese Halliburton (some proposed he was shrinking from the shared spotlight) he just looks as if he is having an off year.
