Rutgers vs Michigan State Prediction

The current betting odds have Rutgers listed as a 10 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Rutgers hasn't been having a great season at all but they are building a good program over there and have been improving every season under Greg Schiano. MSU is in a difficult position here as they are still missing quite a few players in this game due to suspension. They managed to pull off a big win on the road in Illinois last week after losing a big emotional game against Michigan the week before, but with all of the things that have gone on with them they are due for a let down here after 2 big games in a row like that. Rutgers hasn't been great on offense this year but their defense has been really good and the MSU offense hasn't been that great either, even when playing on their home field. MSU is going to struggle to put up points in this game and Rutgers could even end up stealing a win here with that defensive play. The best way to place a bet here is on Rutgers to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“I think they are two of the top rush defenses in the country, not to mention in the Big Ten. But we have to do a better job. We have to do a better job with our blocking up front. We have to do a better job seeing it and running the play that it's designed, and then let your abilities take over.” - Greg Schiano after his team’s loss against Michigan in their last game.

"Throughout the week (we were) very focused, very confident and just intentional about and deliberate about everything that we did this week in our preparation. We were able to come here, play complimentary football." - Mel Tucker after his team’s win against Illinois in their last game.
