Rice vs Texas Prediction

The current betting odds have Rice listed as a 35 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Rice finished last season with a losing 5-8 record overall and they weren't great in their conference either as they were 3-5. Now they have moved into a new conference for this season so they will be looking to come out strong and make a good impression in their new conference. They have also improved a lot in the transfer portal as they picked up JT Daniels who did play QB at Georgia so their offense will be able to move the ball a lot better with him running the show. Texas finished last season with an 8-5 record overall and they were 6-3 in their conference but every year there is so much hype around this Texas team and every year they fall short of their expectations. This is also a Texas team that has lost the best running back in the country Bijan Robinson as he has moved on to the NFL so they have lost what was a really big part of their offense last season. This is also a Texas rivalry and Rice will definitely bring their best effort here, especially since Texas won't view Rice in the same light coming into this game. The best way to place a bet here is on Rice to cover the spread in this game.

Rice Texas Prediction:  Our NCAAF Pick for Saturday, September 2, 2023 (3:30 pm ET start time) is Texas 42 Rice 20.

Notable Quotes

“Every time I looked up, they were playing on the offensive line of scrimmage.” - Mike Bloomgren on his team’s first scrimmage before the start of the new college football season.

"You know I got a letter from the commissioner about sportsmanship the day before that speech. So I'm trying to figure out what are we promoting to our student-athletes, and then to go say those type of things. I'm not guessing that he's going to be having his Thanksgiving dinner with us the night before that game." - Steve Sarkisian on the comments of Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark.
