Purdue vs Illinois Prediction

The current betting odds have Illinois listed as a 6 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Illinois has been really good in most of their games this season as they are leading their division in the Big Ten right now, but they just took a really bad loss at home to MSU in their last game and MSU was missing a lot of starters in that game too. Their defense still played well as it has in all of their games this year but their offense really struggled to put up points and they were playing from behind the entire time. Purdue has been terrible in their games this year though and especially lately they have been really bad on both offense and defense. They have been struggling to put up points on offense while their defense has been giving up a ton of points and their opponent here, Illinois, is going to be looking to bounce back after that bad loss last week. Illinois may have had a bad game against MSU last week but they are still a really good team with a great defense and they have been crushing teams at home this year. They will bounce back with a big win here as Purdue continues to struggle on offense and will not be able to put up many points on this defense. The best way to place a bet here is on Illinois to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

"It was a bad day for us. It starts with me. I didn't have the team ready to play. The guys didn't perform and we got our butts kicked. That is a good football team, we knew that. We knew we were going to have to make play and get points early and take them out of what they wanted to do. We turned it over." - Jeff Brohm after his team’s loss against Iowa in their last game.

"Maybe we need to get bigger, maybe we need to get smaller. We get to the threshold of (scoring) it and weren't able to get in." - Bret Bielema after his team’s loss against MSU in their last game.
