Providence vs Kansas Prediction

Providence is coming into this game as a 7.5 point underdog with the current betting odds according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Providence has been playing much better in their recent games, they were not playing great in their Big East tourney but ever since getting to the NCAA tourney they have been heating up. They have won 2 straight games in the tourney and their first win was a closer game that they won by 9 points but still had control and the lead in that game for most of the time. Their last win was even better as they took out Richmond who pulled off an upset over Iowa in round 1 and they smashed Richmond in that game by close to 30 points. They are shooting their 3-pointers very well right now and that will be a big factor here if they want to keep this a close game. They are going up against a Kansas team that has also been playing very well recently and has won 7 straight games coming into this one, including their Big 12 tourney as well. They have also been smashing a lot of teams recently but they struggled to pull away in their last game against Creighton and even though they had a lead for most of that game, they could not pull away and they kept letting Creighton hang around only winning that game by 7 points. Providence has been playing much better recently and they should continue playing well here. Kansas is the better team here and they will still win this game but this could be another game they struggle to pull ahead in, especially with how well Providence has been shooting 3-pointers recently. Providence should cover the spread here.

Notable Quotes

"I just can't tell you how grateful I feel for our players, our college, our city. It's hard to get to this point. We're just a little school that everybody says, oh, it's Providence. Well, Providence is in the damn building." - Ed Cooley on his team’s win against Richmond.

"You've got to have guys take some marginal shots and make them. And Remy obviously took good shots, but you don't expect a guy ... you don't expect point guards to do that.
