The ACC Championship Game is here!  Wake is the slight underdog in this contest.  These opponents did not face each other in the regular season meaning we will have to look at stats and how they fared SU against the same opponents.

Pitt is 10-2 on the season, but 9-3 ATS.  They have logged 8 Overs and 4 Unders.  They are a perfect 5-0 in road games.  Just last game they beat Syracuse and covered a -14 point spread.  The game before they beat UVA but didn’t cover a -13 point spread.

Wake is 10-2 on the season, but 6-6 ATS.  They have notched 6 Overs and 6 Unders.  They are a perfect 6-0 in home games.  The home field advantage may be why they are favored in this game.  Wake hammered Boston College last game 41-10 after taking an “L” to Clemson the game before 48-27.  

Pitt is 4th in the FBS on offense, they average 42.8 ppg.  They are 3rd in the FBS in yards per game with 514.5…. That breaks down to 6th in the FBS in passing and 72nd in the FBS in rushing.  They clearly favor the passing game, but can use the run game as a release valve if the coverage gets too predictable.

Wake won’t be able to stop the Panthers.   The bet is Pitt to cover.  The Over Under is tricky and I would avoid the total points.  It could be a shootout or Wake could fold completely under Pitt’s run game, eating up too much clock to get the over.
