Philadelphia Eagles Analysis

The Eagles are coming into this game with a 2-4 record overall and they are 2-1 in their road games this season where they will be in this game. The Eagles played the Bucs on Thursday night football and got down early in that game but they managed to claw back a bit in the 2nd half and make it a bit of a game but still fell short in the end. Jalen Hurts really struggled in that game as he completed 12/26 passes for 115 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Miles Sanders led the team in rushing with 56 yards on 9 carries while Hurts ran in 2 TDs on 10 carries for 44 yards total on the ground. Those two were the only players to run the ball for them in that game. Quez Watkins led the team in receiving with 44 yards on 3 receptions while DeVonta Smith had 31 yards on 2 receptions in what was a very quiet day for the receiving corps. Zach Ertz caught the only touchdown pass for them in that game, his last TD as an Eagles as he was traded to the Arizona Cardinals the next day after that game. Alex Singleton led the defense with 8 solo tackles and 7 assisted ones. No one on the defense recorded a sack in that game while Anthony Harris came away with the only interception for them. They have scored 137 points in their first 6 games averaging 22.8 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 152 points against them allowing 25.3 PPG. Their offense is averaging 346 YPG while their defense is allowing 347.2 YPG.

Las Vegas Raiders Analysis

The Raiders are coming into this game with a 4-2 record overall and they are 2-1 in their home games this season where they will be in this game. The Raiders snapped their 2 game losing streak with a big win against the Broncos in a divisional game last week. The Broncos tried to make a late comeback in that game but it was too late by that time as the Raiders had control of this game from the start. Derek Carr had a great game as he completed 18/27 passes for 341 yards and 2 touchdowns. Joshua Jacobs led the team in rushing with 53 yards and 1 touchdown on 16 carries while Kenyan Drake had 34 yards and 1 TD on 4 carries. Henry Ruggs III led the team in receiving with 97 yards and 1 touchdown on 3 receptions while Bryan Edwards had 67 yards on 2 receptions. Darren Waller led the team in receptions with 5 for 59 yards in that game. Cory Littleton led the defense with 7 solo tackles and 4 assisted ones while Johnathan Abram was right behind him with 7 solo tackles and 2 assisted ones. Maxx Crosby led the defense in sacks with 3 in that game. Abram along with Brandon Facyson and Trevon Moehrig-Woodard all came away with 1 interception each for the defense in that one. They have scored 147 points in their first 6 games averaging 24.5 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 144 points against them allowing 24 PPG. Their offense is averaging 385.2 YPG while their defense is allowing 353.3 YPG.

Eagles vs Raiders Prediction

The Raiders are coming into this one as a 3 point favorite with the current betting odds according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Raiders looked really good in their first game without ex-head coach Jon Gruden coming away with a dominant win in a divisional game. The Eagles also started to look good in their game as they came back late but they waited 3 quarters to actually look like a good team trying to win a game in that one. The Raiders have a lot more talent on their team than the Eagles and they will also have the fans on their side in this game with the home advantage in their new stadium. The best bet to place in this game is on the Raiders to cover the spread as they look like they can be a real contender if they keep playing like they did in their last game.

Players to Watch

Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts is one player to watch in this matchup. He leads his team in passing yards, rushing yards, and in touchdowns scored this season. He controls their whole offense and if he is not playing well then the offense does not play well. Look for him to step up and play better than he did in their last game to give his team a shot at winning this game.

Las Vegas Raiders: Henry Ruggs III is one player to watch in this contest. He leads his team in receiving yards and he is coming off of a game where he led the team in receiving yards with a little under 100. He will be looking to crack that 100 yard mark in a game so look for him to make some big catches here and find the end zone.

Notable Quotes

"We were bad in the first half. Put that one on me. There's no doubt our offense needs to be better to give ourselves a chance to win." - Nick Sirianni on his team’s loss to the Bucs in their last game.

“I think a week of practice was good for everybody. It was emotional for all of us. But the guys were able to put it all in perspective when it came time to go to work. It’s still a job. We’ll see what kind of consistency we get from this going forward. That will be the challenge for all of us.” - Rich Bisaccia on taking over for Jon Gruden as head coach.
