Philadelphia Eagles Analysis

The Eagles are coming into this game with a 2-5 record overall and they are 2-2 in their road games this season where they will be in this game. The Eagles have lost their last 2 games straight coming into this one with their last win coming over the Carolina Panthers a few weeks ago. They lost to the Raiders in their last game and they started that game well taking the early lead in the first quarter of that game. That quickly faded though as the Eagles allowed the Raiders to score 30 unanswered points between the second quarter and the third quarter and then just ran away with the game from there. Jalen Hurts played alright in that game as he completed 18/34 passes for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also led the team in rushing with 61 yards on 13 carries while Miles Sanders had 6 carries for 30 yards in that one. Dallas Goedert led the receivers with 70 yards on 3 receptions while DeVonta Smith had 5 catches for 61 yards. Kenneth Gainwell and Jalen Reagor both caught the 2 touchdown passes in that one with 1 each. Alex Singleton led the defense in that game with 7 solo tackles and 2 assisted ones. No one on the defense recorded a sack in that game while Avonte Maddox came away with the only interception for them. They have scored 159 points in their 7 games this season averaging 22.7 PPG and they are allowing their opponents to score 185 points against them allowing 26.4 PPG. Their offense is averaging 347.7 YPG while their defense is allowing 360.7 YPG.

Detroit Lions Analysis

The Lions are coming into this game with a 0-7 record overall and they are 0-3 in their home games this season where they will be in this game. The Lions have lost every single game that they have played in this year coming into this one on a 7 game losing streak. They lost their last game against the Rams and they had a strong start in that game jumping out to a 10-0 lead before the Rams even got to touch the ball on offense. They could not hold onto that lead though as the Rams gradually made their way back in the game until they took the lead and then they never gave it back. Jared Goff struggled in that game as he completed 22/36 passes for 268 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Jamaal Williams led the team in rushing with 57 yards on 12 carries while D'Andre Swift was right behind him with 48 yards on 13 carries. Kalif Raymond had a very nice day as he led the receivers with 115 yards on 6 receptions while Swift also had 96 receiving yards and 1 touchdown on 8 receptions in that one. Jalen Reeves-Maybin led the defense in that game with 5 solo tackles and 3 assisted ones. Julian Okwara led the defense in sacks with the only 1 in the game for them while no one on the defense was able to come up with an interception for them. They have scored 128 points in their 7 games this season averaging 18.3 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 200 points against them allowing 28.6 PPG. Their offense is averaging 334.4 YPG while their defense is allowing 383 YPG.

Eagles vs Lions Prediction

The Lions are coming into this game as a 3.5 point underdog with the current betting odds according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Lions have played well at times and have had some close games against some good teams this year. They are bound to get a win eventually they are not a 0-17 team this season. The Eagles have also shown flashes in their games but have fallen short in their games and are unable to finish the games that they are in. Both of these teams have been inconsistent all season. This is going to be a very close game that likely gets decided by a walk-off field goal in the end so the best bet to place in this game is on the Lions to cover the spread here at home.
