NBA Standings

Thunder: 19-42, 14th place Western Conference
Nuggets:  36-25, 6th place Western Conference

A Western Conference matchup between the worst bad team and the best worst team. It sounds odd but the Thunder are worse than the Rockets whom they are 4 games better in the standings than.  The Houston Rockets are actively trying to lose and so are the Oklahoma Cuty Thunder… but in the Rockets everyone knows it… with the Thunder just the management knows it.  The players are on full blast.  What does Josh Giddey (the best teenager in the league) care if the Thunder start a backup shooting guard at power forward?... That is only how you guarantee losses… but Josh and Shai and Luguentz and whoever will play their hearts out… even the poor shooting guard who has been inserted for the purposes of retaining ping pong ball in the draft lottery.  The Rockets don't have to do that.  They just dismissed the winners and start the junk in order to lose.  The Nuggets are junk… except for C Nikola Jokic who is a real deal MVP winner and candidate again.  Nikola gets to drag his team to wins in a meaningless season…. But wait?  People are saying PF Michael Porter Jr. will return along with SG Jamal Murray in time for the playoffs… I DON’T BELIEVE IT…  but they say that.  The Western Conference has three great teams at the top led by real deal stars with deep rosters behind them.  The Nuggets will not be in the mix even if they have a couple of also-rans knocking off rust during the playoffs. It’s a fun time to make money in Western Conference NBA betting… let’s look at the numbers and the spread.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have won 2 of their last ten games.  They are 4-4-2 ATS during that stretch.  The way they are throwing games to retain lottery pong pong balls is by starting SG Aaron Wiggins at power forward.  No matter what the rest of the team does during this stretch will result in an unbalanced team losing.  Aaron Wiggins by the way is not a bad player… he just should not be guarding power forwards at 6’4.  Hopefully OKC rewards the kid, who was taken in the second round of the NBA draft in 2021, with an extension… anything else would be the work of the devil.  The proverbial snake in the garden of good and evil who ruins everything for the good people.  The unavoidable truth about OKC is that they have found their Luke Doncic or Ja Morant… or Darius Garland in SG Josh Giddey.  Josh has been slowly increasing his performance throughout his ACTUAL teenage rookie season.  Josh is now the youngest player to ever have a triple double and he did it multiple times in February.  Josh Giddey is the future and the team he is on has always been good at drafting and building.  Watch for the Thunder.

The Denver Nuggets  are on a 6-game win streak.  The wins can be placed on the considerable shoulders of Center Nikola Jokic.  They have won 8 of their last ten games.  They have gone 7-3 ATS. This is a good team.  The ultimate winner isd C Nikola Jokmic who literally drags his team to wins as he leads them in Points, assists, steals, rebounds, blocks and FG%.  It is a yeomen’s effort.  It is a pirate’s booty.  The tough guy aside… They are just not a good team without PF Michael Porter Jr and SG Jamal Harris.  Without those guys Nikola Jokic is always in harm’s way.  If harm is a loss, Nikola has been fending it off for two weeks. The current 4th option Sf Aaron Gordon is not worth what the club is paying him.  Gordon can not bring his game up to the level that a winner needs once someone goes down.  Hopefully this team can find a buyer for Gordon in the offseason.  The Nuggets can win.  The Nuggets win because Nikola Jokic plays his regular game.  They will win this one as well.. The only thing to wonder about is will they beat the spread..

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Denver Nuggets Preview and Analysis

Recent Form

OKC is 19-42 on the season, but 36-21-4 ATS. They have logged 27 Overs, 33 Unders, and 1 Push.  They are a terrible 10-21 in road games.

Denver is 36-25 on the season, but 28-32-1 ATS.  They have notched 32 Overs, 28 Unders, and 1 Push.  They are 17-10 in home games. On defense they rank 13th which is good… but also terrible because they monkey with the roster.  They allow 108.8 ppg from opponents.  The few times they have won has been because of an offensive explosion which you can’t count on.
