North Texas Mean Green Analysis

UNT is coming into this game with a 1-3 record overall and they are 0-2 in their road games this season where they will be in this game. They are getting  a break from their conference schedule here as this will be their last non-conference game of the season for them. They started off their season on a good note with a win over the Northwestern State Demons but that quickly turned around on them as they are now on a three-game losing streak after their last 3 games against the SMU Mustangs, the UAB Blazers, and against LA Tech in their last game. They were on a bye last week so they have had an extra week to prepare for this game. Austin Aune really struggled at the quarterback position in their last game as he completed 12/27 passes for 79 yards and 1 touchdown. DeAndre Torrey led the team in rushing with 119 yards and 1 touchdown on 26 carries as he had a very nice day on the ground in that game. Jason Pirtle led the receivers with 26 yards on 4 receptions in what was a very quiet day for the receiving corps as their passing game was weak in that loss. Larry Nixon III had a great day as he led the defense with 10 solo tackles and 2 assisted ones. Gabriel Murphy, Roderick Brown, and Enoch Jackson Jr. all had 1 sack each in that game but no one on the defense was able to come away with an interception. They have scored 79 points in their first 4 games and they have allowed their opponents to score 113 points against them. Their offense is averaging 396.5 YPG while their defense is allowing 411.8 YPG.

Missouri Tigers Analysis

Missouri is coming into this game with a 2-3 record overall and they are 2-1 in their home games this season where they will be in this game. They also get their last break from the conference schedule here as it is their last non-conference matchup of the regular season. Their 2 wins came against the Central Michigan Chippewas and the Southern Missouri State Redhawks while their 3 losses came against the Kentucky Wildcats, the Boston College Eagles, and against the Vols in their last game. Connor Bazelak struggled a lot in that game as he completed 27/44 passes for 322 yards and 2 interceptions. Tyler Badie led the team in rushing with 41 yards and 1 touchdown on 21 carries but they did not really have much of a run game in that one. Keke Chism led the receivers with 76 yards on 4 receptions while Tauskie Dove also had 4 receptions for 68 yards in that game. Martez Manuel had a massive day as he led the defense with 10 solo tackles, 1 assisted one and 1 sack in that game. Blaze Alldredge also had a very nice game with 7 solo tackles and 1 assisted one while Devin Nicholson and Jaylon Carlies were right behind him with 7 solo tackles each as well. Manuel had the only sack in that game and no one on the defense came away with an interception either. They have scored 179 points in their first 5 games and they have allowed their opponents to score 190 points against them. Their offense is averaging 465.6 YPG while their defense is allowing 500 YPG.

North Texas vs Missouri Prediction

Missouri has been struggling this year to win games but most of their losses came in very close games except for their last one. They have not had a problem scoring points though, They have scored almost 30 points in every single game this year. UNT is very bad this year and they have been getting decimated in their games. They kept in close last week but in their 2 games before that one they lost both by around 30 points. Missouri still plays in the SEC conference and they have a lot more talent on their team than UNT does. The best bet to make in this game is Missouri to cover the spread here as UNT will not be able to keep up in this game on offense leading Mizzou to pull away on them more and more throughout this game.

North Texas Mean Green: DeAndre Torrey is one player to watch in this one. He leads his team in rushing yards and in touchdowns scored this season. He is coming off of a great game where he had over 100 yards rushing. He will need to continue that in this game if he wants to give his team a chance at winning so look for him to get some touches here.
