Season Record

Giants: 6-1 NFC EAST
Seahawks: 4-3 NFC WEST

An NFC matchup between two of this season’s biggest NFC surprises.  The New York Giants have been doormats for many years… but this season behind a stout defense and the rushing game of the excellent RB Saquon Barkley… the Giants are winning!   Really winning!  They almost seem not to be worried that their quarterback is still Daniel Jones.  The Giants have learned to do very little with Danny… and it is working. The Seattle Seahawks can barely remember when they were a budding dynasty 5 seasons ago… and then little by little it all fell apart. The defense left and the star quarterback could only beg the team to “let him cook”... Then the chef left for Denver and Seattle was supposed to be dead… However QB Geno Smith a long forgotten draft bust who spent several seasons punching the time clock as a back-up… is… well, I guess… He’s a star reborn!  The Seahawks are only 4-3… but first place in the NFC West? is 4 spots in the NFC West better than anyone thought they would be in.

The New York Giants are on a 4-game winning streak! Their last loss came in September against the defensively wonderful Dallas Cowboys… no other losses all season long.  They are doing it while being next to last in passing yards.  QB Daniel Jones is trusted with nothing but the occasional short pass… RB Saquon Barkely is trusted with dragging the offense all over the field.  No matter what is thought of the QB, the team is 6-1… even better 6-1 ATS!!... Now some people have pointed to the lack of quality competition as the reason for the winnings… Jacksonville, Carolina, Tennessee, Chicago… are all terrible teams… and Green Bay is falling apart… and Baltimore has had some “identity struggles”.  Still the Giants can run on anyone.

The Seattle Seahawks were supposed to be terrible in a rebuilding year after saying goodbye to longtime star QB Russel Wilson… except… they seem reborn.  Now we can’t get ahead of ourselves because we are only talking about 1 win above .500 after the first 7 games. Still they are on a 2-game winning streak with wins over the Arizona Cardinals and the Los Angeles Chargers… they also beat the lousy Detroit Lions and their old buddy Russell with his new team the Denver Broncos.  The Seahawks are 4-3 ATS… after having been underdogs in every game except their 27-23 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.  The sign of a good team usually isn’t losing the only game they were favored in… but in this case it has worked out that way.  The Seahawks offense is firing on all cylinders.. While the defense is not very good.  The result is a Seahawks team that MUST win in shootouts! W 37-23; W 48-45; L 27-23; L 39-32… cause they always seem to get in them.
