Season Record

Rams: 3-6, last place NFC West
Saints: 3-7, last place NFC South

An awkward NFC battle of teams that, while not mathematically eliminated, are pretty much out of any form of contention.  It has been a rough year for both of these squads… Injuries, possible rebuilds… possible throwing in the towel.  It’s sad considering the Los Angeles Rams are the defending Super Bowl Champions.  The Rams made a mistake that is made by almost every Super Bowl Champ of the last few decades (not the Patriots)... they resigned all the important players at larger salaries… causing them to actually lose several of the nearly important players… causing them to start a MORE expensive team that is much thinner on multiple units.  A big mistake was giving 30 million guaranteed for WR Allen Robinson II… That money should have gone to a new Left tackle since the Rams HOF left tackle retired. Keeping DT Aaron Donald is a no brainer… that was a worthwhile expense.  Up and down decisions across the board destroyed the Ram’s salary cap.  Fortunately changes can be made this offseason while the Rams reshuffle.  The New Orleans Saints have been reshuffling to little effect for a few seasons now.  The days of Sean Payton and Drew Brees are long gone.  The Saints are not good this season… and have no real QB to build around anywhere on the roster… maybe they will draft one?

The Los Angeles Rams are rudderless.  WR Cooper Kupp, the Rams Super Bowl MVP and best offensive option is out with injury and the season is done… because of this QB Matt Stafford SHOULD NOT be put into any more games this season.  He has a bum elbow… let him get the rest.  The result of course is QB Daniel Wolford trying to hit passes to WR Allen Robinson II.  The Rams will most likely not be favored ATS again anywhere on the schedule.  They lost their last game to the Arizona Cardinals 27-17… They are on a hard 3-games losing streak. In the loss QB Matt Stafford did not play… in his stead QB Daniel Wolford went 24-36 for 212 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT.  Wolford took a loss to a Cardinals team that also was working with a backup QB. Rams Running backs Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson JR BOTH have not been doing a great job either getting yards or exciting the Coach and Team.  This offseason BOTH guys should be cut or traded and new guys should be brought in.  TE Tyler Higbee was the leading receiver for the game (Cooper left the game with injury early and had -1 yards on 3 receptions.).

The New Orleans Saints are on a 2-game losing streak.  They lost their last game to the lowly Pittsburgh Steelers 20-10. The Saints used QB Andy Dalton who was good for 17-27 passing with 174 yards 1 TD and 2 INT… so not good for anything.  They also snuck in QB Taysom Hill who went 0-1 for 0 and 0… The Saints have reached a place where Taysom Hill should play halfback, scatback, fullback… whatever… just not QB. They aren’t fooling anyone.  RB Alvin Kamara had 8 carries for 26 yards… The other three ball carriers combined for 7 rushes and 3 total yards.  The Saints… Aint.  For the Saints the season can not finish fast enough. For the Saints the rebuild can not start fast enough.

Los Angeles Rams VS New Orleans Saints Prediction

Our prediction for Sunday, November 20th is… Rams 26 - Saints 18

Yes, the Rams will finally win one.  QB Andy Dalton is an interception machine… The Rams cornerbacks are good enough to capitalize on that.  Plus Daniel Wolford will be the best QB on the field as odd as that sounds.  Bet on the Rams.
