An inter conference matchup between West Coast NFL teams based in California. Both of these teams started the season poorly and both have recovered… though not all the way. If you were to talk to the media , both will tell you about how there is plenty of season left and their team has a Super Bowl bound roster.  If you were to talk to a fan from either… they would tell you that the team had early struggles to get over… and now that that is done they will soar to and through the postseason.  Maybe both are right, maybe both are wrong.  The great betting opportunity is found in that Vegas spread of 7 points.  Let’s check the numbers and make a solid bet.

The Los Angeles Chargers won their last game against the Atlanta Falcons 20-17.. It was a win against a small 2.5 point spread.  The Falcons are also not a good team… The result is that the Chargers have completed the rescue mission for the season… They have won 4 of their last 5 games…. They are 2 games above .500 after falling 2 games below .500 in their first 3 games.  The Chargers offense while terrible in the run game has slowly risen their numbers in everything else. QB Justin Herbert is still the heir apparent to NFL QB royalty.. Big arm.. Great stats.  Winning Big is the next thing to master.

The San Francisco 49ers have had the oddest year of any NFl odd duck in recent memory.  The team dumped QB Jimmy Garappolo in order to go forward with QB Trey Lance.. Who is unproven and hasn’t played significant football since his high school years.  Then oddly the team resigned QB Jimmy G as a backup to the kid who took his job.  OK huh?.. Big deal but no big deal if everyone is mature…. Then QB Trey Lance broke his ankle and will miss the entire season… Enter QB Jimmy G just a few games since his last start and his cutting and his resigning… and now his re-establishment as starter.  Wow… That can only bee seen as stupid since they already had Jimmy G and he was already a quarterback with a great winning percentage in the games he played!  It gets even worse… The 49ers gave up picks to get that handful of losing games out of Trey Lance over two seasons.  Huh?  That leaves the 49ers as win now (because they always had a great roster) or get everyone fired. The 49ers beat the Los Angeles Rams 31-14 in their last game… they then took a bye week.  The 49ers come into this game rested and ready to show off their new old quarterback and very tough defense.
