The NFL playoffs are here.  Wild card games.  Fun, excitement, big time betting!  This NFC West matchup will be the third time these two teams have played.  The 49ers have beaten the Seahawks twice so far.. There is no reason they won’t do it again, but the point spread seems to be set at 10… with 1 49er win covering that spread easily… and the other 49er win NOT covering that spread.  The great betting opportunity here is deciding who will get those points?... The Seahawks just spent an entire evening on edge as they watched the Lions and Packers game… If the Packers had won that game the Seahawks wouldn’t be here… but the Packers lost… so the Seahawks get 4 more quarters of football life.  The 49ers clinched their spot in the postseason a few games ago… and they did it with a 3rd string quarterback under center.  Actually they did it with QB Brock Purdy who started the season as Mr Irrelevant because he was taken absolutely last in the NFL draft.  His college play in the great state of Iowa was pretty special but this is a whole new level… Can he win NFL playoff games with so little NFL experience? No one knows… What we do know is that the rest of the 49ers roster is loaded… heck they are so good they might be able to win with Russell Wilson at QB!

The Seattle Seahawks backed their way into the playoffs after winning their last game of the season. And waiting for the Packers to lose against the Lions.  The Seahawks beat the Los Angeles Rams 19-16 in overtime… it was a loss ATS.  Seattle has lost ATS 3 more times than they have won this season. They have not been a safe bet.  In the win QB Geno Smith got beat up by the Rams defense as he completed 19 of 31 passes for 213 yards, 1 TD and 2 soul crushing INTs.  RB Kenneth Walker III rushed for 114 yards on 29 carries to keep the Seahawks alive… but the team ultimately won after a steady stream of field goals got them to overtime (they got a miss on the last try)... and the game ended with an overtime field goal for the win. The Seahawks looked bad… and now they face a much tougher team.

The San Francisco 49ers cruised to the postseason as they have won 10 of their last 10 games… in the midst of this streak they lost starting QB Jimmy Garoppolo to injury and replaced him with 3rd stringer Brock Purdy.  The best mid-season trade in all of the NFl this season was when the 49ers added RB Christian McCaffrey… who in a short time has become their leading rusher and TD getter with 746 yards and 6 TDs.  Defensive lineman and pass rusher extraordinaire Nick Bosa has 18.5 sacks on the season… and he leads the league’s most loaded defense.  They hold opponents to the least yards and they hold opponents to the least points… exactly what you need to see out of any team that has a real Super Bowl chance at the start of the Playoffs.  In their last game they trounced Arizona 38-13 as Brock Purdy completed 15 of 20 passes for 178 yards and 3 TDs. RB Elijah Mitchell picked up 2 more TDs on just 55 yards rushing from 5 attempts… RB Christian Mccaffrey was given a very light day to save his health for this postseason.

The Seahawks defense is 26th in total yards while allowing 261.7 per game, 13th in passing yards while allowing 211.5 per game, 30th in rushing yards while allowing 150.2 per game, and 25th in points while allowing 23.6 per game.

The Seahawks will simply get blasted by that 49ers defense.  They struggled against the Rams without Aaron Donald… What do they expect to do against the loaded 49ers pass rush?.... Plus the Seahawks defense is young and plucky and has terrible numbers across the board.  Bet the 49ers AND the OVER.
