Chiefs: 8-2, 1st place AFC West

An Inter-conference matchup between two teams with very different January plans. We can say it… It has been confirmed.  The Kansas City Chiefs are again the team to beat to get to the Super Bowl in the AFC, but maybe nobody can beat them in the postseason.  QB Patrick Mahomes is again making everything look easy as he works an offense that is only 6 months removed from losing its best WR, TyreeK HIll, to the Miami Dolphins.  Patrick shrugged that off and found gold in the rest of the roster. The Chiefs defense is looking just OK… and the offensive line that let Patrick down in his last Super Bowl is much improved.  The Los Angeles Rams are the defending Super Bowl Champions, but at 3-7 with a bunch of dinged yup guys and a thin offensive line… The Rams will not see the postseason let alone a Super Bowl.  The Rams lost their best offensive weapon WR Cooper Kupp to injury, but even before that they were cooked.  QB Matthew Stafford has struggled with a bum elbow all season and possibly for the rest of his career.  The Rams still can point to DL Aaron Donald as one of the best in the league… but after all this losing that is like pointing to your Mercedes the day the bank takes your house back.  The Rams are losing big and often.  They need a productive offseason is they want to keep their multiple Mercedes players in time to see better days.

The Los Angeles Rams have lost 4 straight games.  They last lost to the lowly New Orleans Saints 27-20. In that game QB Matt Stafford was 11 of 18 passing for 159 yards and 2 TDs.. then he was knocked out of the game and most likely will not be back for this game against the Chiefs.  After last week’s loss the Rams waived RB Darrell Henderson JR.. the run game has been a problem all season for the Rams, Head coach Sean McVay doesn’t trust any of his running backs… especially Cam Akers who has a fumbling problem that he can never apologize for… so they enter this game without the QB or WR who make the passing game work and no running game whatsoever.  It looks like a bad time for everyone involved.  Hence the obnoxious 15 point spread.

The Kansas City Chiefs have won 4 straight games.  They have the #1 scoring offense in the NFL with a frim 30 points game average.  They have however not been a safe bet ATS where they are only 3-6-1… The Chiefs get BIG spreads and tend to win shootouts.  Big spreads do not mix with shootouts.  The Chiefs beat the Chargers by 3 points… the Jacksonville Jaguars by 10 points, and the Tennessee Titans by 3 points in OVERTIME.  2 losses and a push. QB Patrick Mahomes has 3265 passing yards on the season to lead the team and the league… TE Travis Kelce has 855 yards receiving to lead the team AND he has 11 touchdowns!! The Chiefs running game is an afterthought while the passing game is firing on all cylinders. On the defensive side DT Chris Jones is doing his best Aaron Donald impression with 9 sacks on the season so far.

Los Angeles Rams VS Kansas City Chiefs Prediction

Our prediction for Sunday, November 27th is…. Chiefs 30 - Rams 17

Yes… Bet the Rams.  Against a 15 points spread if you bet the Chiefs?... you will watch as they are up by 10-12 points in the 4th quarter and milk the clock until it is gone.  The Chiefs don’t care about your spread and they don’t want to put Patrick Mahomes in a situation where Aaron Donald can flatten him for no reason.  They will dink and dunk until the clock is gone.  The Chiefs will win… but laying 15 points on a team that has not often covered much smaller spreads is dumb.
