Season Record

Texans: 0-1-1, AFC South
Bears: 1-1 NFC North

An inter-conference matchup between the perennially struggling Bears and the wounded and struggling Texans.  It would be great if the Texans were more than a team that hasn’t lost every game but hasn’t won any games… Yet that is who they are.  They tied.  They may have even celebrated a tie.  Football is less for it.  The Bears are still playing a game where they are teaching QB Justin Fields how to play QB in the NFL during actual NFL games.  The results are tepid.  The Great Betting opportunity here will be found in the defensive numbers… as neither of these teams have much offense to brag about.

The Houston Texans have won against the spread TWICE in two games.  It has been great to bet on Houston… BTW they have not yet won a game.  They lost to Denver 16-9, covering an obscene 10.5 spread… and tied with Indianapolis 20-20!... Covering a 7 point spread.  The Texans do not win football games… but in the world of gambling they simply can not be written off.  Also they have achieved this magic with terrible offensive numbers AND terrible defensive numbers.  Both games hit the UNDER, so no matter how bad the defensive numbers are… they aren’t really that bad.  Of course, Denver and Indy are simply not the cream of the league at the moment.  QB Davis Mills is considered a nobody and his stats bear that out… You Can Not put your faith in him to orchestrate a winning drive. Still the Texans for a BAD team have come through as a Great Betting Opportunity.. The trick will be comparing the Bears to the Colts and the Broncos.

The Chicago Bears also have had two consecutive UNDERS!  The Chicago Bears are 1-1 ATS.  They beat the San Francisco 49ers with Trey Lance at quarterback… that guy is finished BTW… we wish him well but next season he will be a quarterback that has started 6 games over the last 4 years including two years of college… and he will have to work back from injury.  His career is done.  But I digress, the Bears have Justin Fields at quarterback and that guy is still trying to prove himself and may… maybe… may get there.  Justin has a strong running game in RB David Montgomery… He will need to provide passing to create a winning team.  The anticipation may kill the Bears.. Or it may pay off.

These bad teams are remarkably close in numbers… yet wildly different in competitors.  The difference will be a choice on who can break through the malaise.  One of these will.  This is guaranteed to not be tie.
