An inter-conference NFL matchup between two of the worst teams in the league regardless of conference or division.  Really, this is a game where no one will worry over who wins and who loses and how it may affect their team in the standings.  The Denver Broncos entered the season with good feelings and high hopes… They had just pulled off a huge trade to get QB Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks.  Broncos fans were still learning how to fit “let Russ cook” into a chant when suddenly… The team looked much worse than expected.  Really really bad actually… Week after week the team stumbles and stumbles further into a pit of despair. They can’t even look forward to the NFL draft since the Seahawks have BOTH the Broncos first AND second round draft picks… plus MORE in the future!  Another thing that stings at the Broncos is that the Seahawks are winning and actually in first place in the NFC West.  They are in that pit with no way out… they will need a sudden miracle or powerful creativity to get themselves out.  The Broncos entire team only has 13 TDs in the first 10 games firmly landing them as the lowest scoring offense in the entire NFL.  This season will be remembered in Mile High as a powerful waste of a good defense… and that defense is probably why the Broncos are very slimly favored.  The Carolina Panthers have Baker Mayfield at Quarterback!  Isn’t that fun?  They have won 3 of their 11 games on the season… and it is all over.  All these guys have to do is keep showing up for paychecks and waiting for that offseason vacation.  Baker has been at the helm of a very bad offense as well… though slightly better than Denver… only Baker does not have a good defense to let down.  It is too rough to put all the blame on Baker… The Panthers have just fired their expensive head coach Matt Rhule who they hired in 2020… and will continue to have to pay $40 million dollars over the next 5 years… I’ve never been fired.. But man oh man that sounds nice!  Owner David Tepper said “Matt was fired because he could not get over the losing hump”... if that is true A WHOLE LOT MORE HEADS SHOULD ROLE.  Steve Wilks will take over as an interim coach… Steve has been a career defensive coordinator except for his lone year as the Arizona Cardinals head coach where he went 3-13 before being fired.  He will have this job for the remainder of the year and be given the chance to interview to keep it.  He most likely will not have much more success in the win column… but then again… Vegas had an interim coach that immediately turned things around there… Too bad Vegas didn’t keep that guy.

The Denver Broncos are on a 2-game losing streak, but really have only won 1 game in their last 7 tries.  In their last game they lost to the lowly Las Vegas Raiders 22-16… which was also a loss ATS (the same spread we find in this game).  In the loss QB Russell Wilson went 24-31 for 247 yards with 0 TDs and 0 INTs.  Their lone TD came in the running game by Latavious Murray who had 49 yards on the day and that TD.  The rest of the day it was punting or field goals for Denver. By contrast Raiders QB Derek Carr (the much maligned) threw 23 of 37 for 307 yards and 2 TDs… those two TDs were to WR Davonte Adams who grabbed 141 yards on the day. (It is highly unlikely that the Raiders stay with Derek Carr at quarterback for much longer, but it was fun to see the duo finally come alive.)... Russell Wilson is lucky to be on the road in this one as the home crowd has started openly booing him.

The Carolina Panthers are a mess. They lost their last game to Baltimore 13-3 and are also just a 3 win all season type team.  At the start of the season there was some discussion of whether Carolina had a quarterback controversy… Who should they go with Baker Mayfield or San Darnold?... Or unknown backup QB PJ Walker?... Turns out the answer was “none of the above”.  Carolina is in full rebuild mode with an interim coach and an owner that has committed to paying a fired coach 8 million a year for the next half decade just so long as he is gone!  Tire fire much?... The Panthers score on average 18.8 points a game and give up on average 23.3 points per game.  That is a recipe for losing.  Baker Mayfield will be unemployed next season, but the team should commit to building a better squad overall instead of replacing him with “the future” right away.

Denver Broncos VS Carolina Panthers Prediction

Our prediction for Sunday, November 27th is… Broncos 20 - Panthers 9

Bet on the Broncos (gulp).  Seriously, the Broncos will have the only defense on the field… That is the only difference. The Broncos are bad but here is a matchup where the defense can actually win the game by themselves by simply stopping Baker Mayfield.
