Season Record

Bengals: 5-4, 2nd place AFC North
Steelers: 3-6, last place AFC North

An AFC matchup between the rising tide… and yesterday’s boats.  The Cincinnati Bengals are supposed to be going to the postseason.. They went last season and lost the Super Bowl to the Rams by a slim margin and a final snap sack from DT Aaron Donald.  This season has been harder than that.  This season the Bengals have been beaten up by lesser teams than they got beat by last season.  QB Joe Burrows needs protection and he will not get it this season.  WR Ja’Marr Chase is being overshadowed by WR Justin Jefferson in Minnesota… what was supposed to be JaMarr’s year to declare “the best”.. Is actually Justin’s year.  The Bengals need wins.. It’s games like these that lets them get there.  The Pittsburgh Steelers put off a rebuild for too long and it is kicking them in the head this season.  Steelers QB Kenhy Pickett has tiny little hands… and it shows.  He was a first round pick but may not be a lasting NFl quarterback. The Steelers are awful on offense, but also terrible on defense… so no worries Bengals fans.  The great betting opportunity is found in the spread which is unnecessarily small.

The Cincinnati Bengals won their last game over the Carolina Panthers 42-21.  A true doubling up.!  We have been wondering where those Bengals have been all season?  These Bengals are 5-4 but their ATS is 6-3.  They have several games left on the season to make magic happen… and a true doubling of an opponent is a great place to start even if that opponent was the Panthers.  QB Joe Burrow was 22-28 passing for 206 yards and 1 TD.  RB Joe Mixon was 22 rushes for 153 yards and 4 TDs.  The Bengals kept moving down the field and scoring again and again and again.  That should make them happy, but it can not cover up the problem. The Bengals offensive line is soft.  The Bengals QB needs time to see the field and hit targets… If that is missing the Bengals clearly lose games.  WR Ja’Marr Chase has missed a few games and will miss several more.  The Bengals have to hold it down and make the postseason to give the duo of Joe and Ja’Marr a chance.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are at the bottom of the league in offense and not so great on defense… That is why they continually post losses. They did however win their last game against the New Orleans Saints.  In that game QB Kenny Pickett went 18-30 for 199 passing yards with 0 TD and O INT.  The much more important stat than scoring is 0 turnovers for Kenny Pickett.  Kenny has small hands… he is a Pennsylvania hero.. And the Steelers should move off of him at their very first chance.  Kenny is best suited for backup in the NFL if he is going to be in the NFL.  RB Najee Harris had 99 yards on 20 rushes.  Kenny scrambled for 51 yards… and 1 TD… Pickens had a long TD run.  The kicker got a good workout.  The Steelers have nothing to show for this season except a possible HOF coach on the sidelines.  They will rebuild smartly… and that rebuild needs an actual quarterback.
