New York Yankees Analysis

The Yankees are coming into this game with a 17-6 record overall and they are 7-3 in their road games this season where they will be in this game. They have won 12 of their last 13 games and are coming into this one on a 10 game winning streak. They just won their 3-game series against the Kansas City Royals 3-0 completing the sweep and they are playing the series finale of a 3-game series with the Jays on Wednesday night. This will be the 3rd game of the series on Wednesday with the 2nd game still to be played on Tuesday. Jameson Taillon is the starting pitcher for them on Tuesday while Nestor Cortes is on the mound for them here on Wednesday. He is 1-0 with a 1.31 ERA this season. His team won 3 of their last 4 games this season with him as a starter. In his last start, he allowed 1 ER, 0 HRs, and 0 BB with 3 Ks on 8 hits in 5 IP against the Kansas City Royals. They scored 21 runs in their last series averaging 7 runs scored per game in that span and they allowed 6 runs against them averaging 2 runs allowed per game.

Toronto Blue Jays Analysis

The Blue Jays are coming into this game with a 15-9 record overall and they are 9-5 in their home games this season where they will be in this game. They have won 2 of their last 3 games but are coming into this one off of a loss in their last game which snapped a 2 game winning streak that they were on. They just won their 3-game series against the Houston Astros 2-1 and they are playing the series finale of a 3-game series with the Yankees on Wednesday night. This will be the 3rd game of the series on Wednesday with the 2nd game still to be played on Tuesday. Alek Manoah is the starting pitcher for them on Tuesday while Yusei Kikuchi will be on the mound for them here on Wednesday. He is 0-1 with a 5.52 ERA this season. His team lost all 4 games this season with him as a starter. In his last start, he allowed 4 ER, 1 HR, and 3 BB with 4 Ks on 4 hits in 2.2 IP against the Houston Astros. They scored 12 runs in their last series averaging 4 runs scored per game in that span and they allowed 14 runs against them averaging just over 4 runs allowed per game.

Yankees vs Blue Jays Prediction

The Yankees are coming into this game as a slight favorite with the current betting odds. This is a matchup between two of the better teams in the AL and they have both been playing very well recently with their pitching and the way they have been smashing the ball. The Yankees have a big advantage here though as Cortes is on the mound and he has had some very good starts this season. The same cannot be said for Kikuchi here, Kikuchi has been awful to start the season and every game he has started has ended with a loss for the Blue Jays. He has been allowing too many runs in all of his starts and he has not made it very deep into his starts either. He will put the Jays in a position where they will have to play from behind and once that happens it will put too much stress on their bullpen and they will not be able to use some of their better arms. Kikuchi has been a major problem for the Jays all season and he will continue to be a big hole in their starting rotation. The best bet here is on the Yankees to win this game.
