Rangers vs Lightning Prediction

The Rangers are coming into this game as an underdog with the current betting odds. They are coming off of a loss in the last game of this series which cut their series lead down to 2-1 but they still played very well in that game and even had the Lightning on the ropes for a little with a 2-0 lead in that game. They started to relax a bit in that game though and then they took a few stupid penalties which allowed the Lightning to score and tie the game up eventually winning it late with 40 seconds left but, the Rangers will have learned their lesson from that game. They will likely come out harder in this game and if they get out to another early lead, they could suck the energy right out of that building. The Lightning also do not have much of a home advantage as there were a lot of Rangers fans in game 3 and they made their presence known with the Rangers chants that could be heard from the TV broadcast. The Lightning have all the pressure on them here as they are the back-to-back defending champions and they already have to win at least 1 game on the road to advance, they cannot afford to drop a game at home here. The Rangers have been the better team for most of this series and they are going to advance once this series is over. The best bet here is on the Rangers to win this game.

Notable Quotes

“They were the better team tonight overall. It went right down to the wire and had a chance to win late. ... Disappointing ,but we’ll move on and get ready for the next one.” - Gerard Gallant after his team’s loss against the Lightning in game 3 on Sunday.

“We’ve been in spots like this. A big thing for us was, we felt we had a recipe, we just had to stay with it. I think there were times in the series where we’ve tried to manufacture things that weren’t there that put us on our heels, gave up opportunities. Whether it was a break, whatever it was, we weren’t in sync.” - Jon Cooper after his team’s win against the Rangers in game 3 on Sunday.
