A National League matchup between the best in the East and the best in the West.  It’s a big deal regardless of how early in the season it is taking place.  The Mets hate the Dodgers and the Dodgers could care less about the Mets.  The Dodgers have their sights set on the Yankees or the Astros, the Dodgers expect another World Series crack after losing the last one to Atlanta and winning the one before.  The Mets are the new kids on the block… having very little in the way of recent history that could have predicted a sudden rise to prominence.  These teams both boast a very loaded line-up… The Mets have the 2nd best scoring batters in the league and the Dodgers have the actual best scoring line-up.  The swings will be hard and directed toward the fence.  Launch angle will be the focus of the day.  

The New York Mets have won 7 of their last ten games.  Going 9 Over and 1 Under.  The Mets are on a solid scoring streak as they are on a 5-game winning streak having scored 44 RUNS in just the last 5 games!!  That is some severe production!  Pete Alonso,. Francisco Lindor, Nick Plummer, Starling Marte… They have all been wildly productive.  The Mets get on base and they score, score, score!  They beat the Washington Nationals 2-0 in two games, they swept the Philadelphia Phillies 3-0, They went 1-2 against the San Francisco Giants, and 1-1 against the Colorado Rockies during that stretch.  The Mets pitching boasts the addition of Chris Bassit and the renaissance of Taijuan Walker and a steady hand in Carlos Carrasco.  They are night and day different from the Mets that had funnyman Jon Stewart jokingly crying just a couple of seasons ago.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have won 6 of their last 10 games.  They suffered a dramatic dip against the awful Pittsburgh Pirates at home with another Pirates game to play tonight.  They went 4 Over and 6 Under… The O/U goal has been set very high for Dodger games with the lowest goal set at 8 points (and only twice) during the last ten games.  They went 0-2 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-0 against the Arizona Cardinals, 2-1 against the Washington Nationals, and 0-1 against the Philadelphia Phillies during that stretch.  SS Mookie Betts is no joke.  The man has been hitting the ball in May to rival anything seen in Dodger history.  Home runs, base hits, getting on base… etc etc.  Mokkie needs guys like Trea Turner and Gavin Lux to simply hit to their abilities and this team will become impossible to beat.  There have been rumors that the Dodgers will trade for National hitter Juan Soto… who is a Trea Turner close friend… Though those have all been shot down by Nationals’ management… So expect the trade any day now.  The Dodgers have a loaded minor league system that could easily finish a trade without killing the heart of the team.

The Dodgers struggled against Pittsburgh… part of that is they were resting arms for this big matchup with the Mets.  That may have been a mistake as they surpassed two easy wins with Pittsburgh by “experimenting”... In order to have a better matchup against a tough team in the Mets.  Still the Dodgers have plenty of power to attack the Mets from the outset.  SS Mookie Betts entered the league MVP discussion with his batting numbers in May alone.  For the Mets Pete Alonso is always a longball threat… He just doesn’t have as many home run hitters behind him as the Dodgers have. The Dodgers at home with a favorable moneyline finally… that means Great Betting Opportunity.
