LeBron James was either too impatient or had no idea what he had in his back pocket. Lebron is on a mission to get 1 more or a couple more rings before Father Time takes him away from basketball AND to take the all-time scoring record away from Kareem… After the 2018 season he joined the Los Angeles Lakers and forced the Lakers to trade Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Julius Randle, Jason Hart, AND PICKS for Anthony Davis. It worked. LeBron got a ring… however he missed out on Julius Randle becoming an all-star, Brandon Ingram becoming an All-Star, and Lonzo Ball improving his 3-point shooting. He also missed out on what could have been many rings… had they kept those guys and used those picks and made the smaller trades… he would be the leader of the West right now and he could rest as much as he needs without losing regular season games.
The Knicks are playing great. After decades of junk and trying to fix that junk with salary… the Knicks finally built a good roster of young stars mixed with seasoned vets… Julius Randle is the best of the bunch… it’s a good bunch. Spike Lee will be waving a towel during the playoffs for a change this year. Go get em’ Spike.
The Pelicans also botched the Anthony Davis Trade. It turns out they should have done the Anthony Davis trade and traded the #1 pick who became Zion Williamson at the same time. Why? Isn’t Zion great? Sure he is, but he is 1 guy who misses a lot of games. They could have gone forward with Lonzo, Julius, and Brandon and dozens of first round picks to use in whatever configuration of draft and trade they could imagine. Instead they traded off Lonzo and Julius and kept on adding younger and younger pieces. The Dew isn’t dry on Zion’s NBA back and they expect him to lead a platoon of young, unproven guys year after year. Sad really. They could have been a powerhouse… instead they are still the last place Pelicans.

Knicks vs Pelicans Preview and Analysis.
The Knicks won their first game of the season against the Boston Celtics in overtime 138-134 and they haven’t looked back since. Besides hitting a HUGE OVER and winning on the moneyline as Underdogs… They were announcing an arrival. They would then beat the Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, and Chicago Bulls. They lost only 1 and it was to the Orlando Magic in a back-to back which gave Orlando the chance to see and review the game plan.
The Pelicans are just the Pelicans. They have the ability to lose any NBA game, road games, home games, Monday games, Sunday Games… you name it. They have lost to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Chicago Bulls, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Utah Jazz. They beat 1 team and that was the Minnesota Timberwolves… also the second of a back to back schedule blip. Whether it is the United Center or Madison Square Garden or the Smoothie Center… smart bookmakers will tell you to never put money on the Pelicans. They are too chaotic, they have no clear leader or vision. Not everyone plays and not everyone plays well. (in NJ, IA, VA, WV, MI, TN…. I can’t vouch for what your bookmaker has told you).
The Knicks are 3rd in the NBA in points scored. The Knicks are 4th in the NBA in 3pt%. The Knicks are young lions that are a player away from clear contenders… and that player may already be on their roster. Add to that 12th in offensive rebounds and 6th in field goals made.
The Pelicans are 27th in points scored. The Pelicans are 26th in FG% and shockingly 10th in 3PT FG%. They jack up threes and only stay in games if they hit. Zion has missed a chunk of time to start the season and really they should trade him to the Dallas Mavericks or the Golden State Warriors while he still has great value… then it will be a new season for everyone involved. (my trade recommendations are not valid in AZ)
New York Knicks vs New Orleans Pelicans Prediction
Our prediction for Saturday, October 30th is… Knicks 134 - Pelicans 104
Yes, I’m predicting a 30 pt win because I believe in the Over but not the Pelicans. The Knicks should boat race this one.

NY: Tom Thibodeau. He is still plodding and unrelenting. Now he is winning.
NO: Willie Green. Please, give him a chance. This guy knows his stuff and isn’t in charge of Zion never playing.
