Knicks vs Grizzlies Prediction

The current betting odds have the Grizzlies listed as a 6.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Grizzlies just had a great season where they finished as the number 2 seed in the Western Conference but were eventually eliminated in the playoffs by the Warriors who went on to become the champions. They were outstanding during the regular season though as they were very good with their star player Ja Morant breaking out in a big year, but they were also a very good team without him and were still hard to beat. They were almost unbeatable at home too as they had one of the best home records in the NBA and they are only going to come out stronger now that everyone is healthy again. The Knicks were able to pick up Jalen Brunson in the offseason to give their team a boost but they missed out on the Donovan Mitchell sweepstakes and still have Julius Randle as a starter when he turned out to be a big problem for them last season. There are just too many question marks with this team this season as their young talent continues to grow in the shadows of the veteran players who won't get out of the way. The Grizzlies were one of the best teams in the NBA last season and with everyone coming back healthier than ever, they are going to crush the Knicks at home here where they have been dominant. The best way to place a bet here is on the Grizzlies to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“I think I knew that coming in, because Evan, he earned it, really. It’s his 11th year. … Thibs said you have to come in and earn it. That’s what I kind of expected coming into training camp, but then I kind of got hurt, so it kind of derailed that. But I felt like [Fournier] earned it. He was the guy that had it coming in. And I had to prove myself. I didn’t get the opportunity to do that.” - Quentin Grimes on Evan Fournier being in the starting lineup over him.

“Once Ja becomes a really high level shooter, he’s going to be unstoppable. He’s pretty unstoppable now. To get where we ultimately want to go, and that’s winning championships, it starts with our day in and day out process. Our tunes not going to really change in terms of how we operate.” - Taylor Jenkins on unleashing Ja Morant this season.
