We’re coming down the home stretch of the NFL season and there’s still a lot left to get excited for on your TV screen (or your streaming device if you’re like me and watch Sunday Ticket on a Fire Stick. That works, too). Nevertheless, the final few weeks of the regular season are going to be hectic for everyone on the field, but just as much as everyone off it. You’re probably going to need to figure out which plays are the best ones in terms of teams sitting the star players for the playoff advantage, or which teams are going all in for the final playoff push. If you need that extra push, trust that our champion handicappers can get the job done for you. Matt Fargo has a 17-9-0 run over the last 30 days in the NFL. Brian Bitler has continued to stay consistent, despite a wild, unpredictable season, by going 16-9-0. Do you want a piece of this action? Dolphins: lost 23-21 at Patriots

Jets analysis

I'm not really sure how fun the final playoff spot in the AFC would have entailed if the New York Jets were involved in some capacity, but alas they are not and The Jets are sitting at home once again and are dealing with the ramifications of having a mid round first round pick. In all actuality we really shouldn't be making fun of The Jets for the season they had. This was a team that was in first place in the AFC East once upon a time. They had us in the first half, I’m not gonna lie.

But the Jets are in a position of sitting home once again, also trying to figure out the quarterback situation going into the offseason. Zach Wilson is likely on his way out, and Mike White might not really be the answer. Do you try and move up to draft someone else to make Garrett Wilson happy? Or do you hope something materializes in the form of Derek Carr or something?

Nevertheless, the Jets won seven games this year. That’s an incredible feat. Even though they’ve lost five in a row and have gone 1-4 against the spread in the last five, there was something to build off of in Robert Saleh’s second season. Whatever transpires later to get the offense going is another battle entirely. But the Jets do have a star in the making with Wilson, who despite the quarterback ineptitude this year still racked 1,014 yards on 74 catches in his first season.

A word to the Jets: if you find a quarterback who can get Wilson the ball more, you’ll have a superstar on your hands.

Dolphins analysis

Not a clue on what the Miami Dolphins are going to do. They need a win and a Patriots loss to Buffalo (that situation could be an entirely different animal because reasons) in order to get into the playoffs. Will that involve Tua Tagovailoa? Will that involve Teddy Bridgewater? Will that involve Skylar Thompson? Will that involve someone off the street who hasn’t played a game of football in 5 years?

All options appear to be on the table for the Dolphins, who have also lost five in a row and are 2-3 against the spread in that stretch. Things have gone haywire for Miami as of late, and now the thought of Tagovailoa’s concussions continue to plague the future prospects of this team. Enter Bridgewater, who completed just 12 of 19 passes in the 23-21 loss to New England, and then later dislocated his pinky in the loss.

The Dolphins are just cursed at the quarterback position right now and there needs to be some sort of exorcism done with Mike McDaniel doing something because he needs all the help he can get at this point.

Prediction

The Jets are laying 1.5 in this one, which shows you just how bad things have gotten for Miami right now. The crowd needs something to cheer about at home, and I’d say this would be it. Dolphins 21, Jets 16
