The Jets finished the 2020 season with a 2-14 record.  They were worse than bad.  174.8 passing yards per game was 31st, 105.2 rushing yards was 23rd, points scored 15.2 per game was worst in the league 32nd.  It was rare to see a touchdown.  But THEY’VE CHANGED.  THey signed a bunch of guys and drafted a quarterback out of BYU with the second pick in the first round!  They will be fine, they will be great, they will be the J-E-T-S…. Oh.

The Packers finished 2020 with a 13-3 record, it was the second year in a row doing that!  Aaron Rodgers won the MVP.  They had 256.6 passing yards a game 9th, 132.4 rushing yards a game 8th, and scored 31.8 points a game 1st to lead the league!!  They would have made the Super Bowl if Brian Gutekunst was a Packers fan! 

The Jets re-loaded big… but will still have to contend with the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots… who will beat the Jets in this division in that order. The AFC East division has a long proud history of 1 team being good and the rest being terrible… It's the Bill's turn.

The Packers still have to contend with the Chicago Bears, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Detroit Lions.  The Packers will be better than all of them.  The NFC North is the Packers from Day 1.

Jordan Love is not the Green Bay Packers starter, Aaron Rodgers is.  In fact there has been some scuffle about last year’s rookie Jordan Love even getting drafted by the Packers (I don’t know if you heard).  We won’t go into that.. Because it is squashed for now.  However in the NFL preseason, Jordan Love is the man.  He will have freedom to play in all the preseason games…. And to show the Packers fans that haven’t already been poisoned into hating Aaron Rodgers that they should.  To put it all in perspective, if the Packers had taken CeeDee Lamb in round 1 in last year’s draft instead of trading up for Love and the best available offensive lineman in round 2 instead of a developmental running back who didn’t dress all of last year… We would be talking about whether Aaron Rodgers would repeat as Super Bowl Champ this year.  Make no mistake, that is the truth.  That doesn’t mean Jordan Love should apologize to anyone… he didn’t draft himself.  His choice of jerseys was limited to who said his name on draft night… turned out it was a GM who would look past the present to prepare for the future and get it all wrong.  I understand the kids in Wisconsin love the National Football Conference 5 years from now more than parades today.

The Jets had a lousy year last year.  The American Football Conference chalked them up to an easy win and they were.  In true loser fashion they screwed up the one good thing that could have come from the terrible season… getting the first overall pick.  They didn’t, they messed up and accidentally won a game.  Instead of Trevor Lawrence they landed Zach Wilson… who doesn’t look much bigger than the Barista at any local Starbucks.  To fix all this the Jets went nuts signing free agent contracts. They loaded the defense and key offensive positions.  A team-high level of spending that had the rest of the AFL shiver with fear and jealousy. Most any National Football League team would love to have the cap space to commit to $122 million in a couple days… of course the smart, winning teams never have that much cap space.

The Jets beat the New York Giants to start the preseason…. And the Packers probably are gonna play Jake Dolegala for the majority of the game… still It’s the Jets job to drop games they have a chance at winning and I don’t expect different. 

"When you got a family full of sharks, you're all going to eat," -Quinnen Williams, the actual quality player form last year’s roster… about adding Carl Lawson and Sheldon Rankins in free agency.  Quinnen will be a monster if these guys can take some of the pressure off him.

"Potentially" -Matt LaFleur on whether Jordan Love would play against the Jets.  See, Matt has to watch Aaron Rodgers closely before committing to saying anything out loud, one way or the other.  If Aaron were to get mad again Matt might not be able to handle it emotionally.
