New York Jets Analysis

The Jets are coming into this game with a 0-2 record overall and they are 0-1 when playing in road games where they will be in this game. They lost their season opener against the Carolina Panthers and then followed that one up with a divisional loss to the New England Patriots at home in their last game. Zach Wilson struggled a lot in that game as he completed 19/33 passes for 210 yards and 4 interceptions. They did not have much of a run game as Michael Carter led the team in rushing with 59 yards on 11 carries. Ty Johnson also had 50 rushing yards on 12 carries. Braxton Berrios led the team in receiving with 73 yards on 7 receptions. C.J. Mosley led the defense with 7 solo tackles and 3 assisted ones. Marcus Maye, John Franklin, and Sheldon Rankins all recorded 1 sack each in that game while no one on the defense had an interception. They have scored 20 points this season and have allowed their opponents to score 44 points against them. Their offense has accumulated 588 yards while their defense has allowed 641 yards against them.

Denver Broncos Analysis

The Broncos are coming into this game with a 2-0 record overall this season and this will be their home opener. They won their first game of the season against the New York Giants and then followed that one up with a win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in their last game. Teddy Bridgewater had a great game in that one as he completed 26/34 passes for 328 yards and 2 touchdowns. Javonte Williams led the team in rushing with 64 yards on 13 carries while Melvin Gordon had 31 yards on the same amount of rush attempts. Courtland Sutton had a massive day for the receiving corps as he led the team with 159 yards receiving on 9 receptions. Kareem Jackson led the defense with 4 solo tackles and 2 assisted ones. He also had 1 interception in that game as well as Patrick Surtain II who also had one. Von Miller came away with the only sack for the defense in that game. They have scored 50 points in their first 2 games and they have allowed their opponents to score 26 points against them. Their offense has accumulated 818 yards this season while their defense has allowed 503 yards against them.

Jets vs Broncos Prediction

The Broncos have been averaging 400 yards per game on offense so far. They have not really played any good teams yet but they are not getting one in this game and Bridgewater has looked really good regardless. Their offense is flowing well but the Broncos have a really good defense as well. They have not allowed their opponents to score more than 13 points in a game so far. The Jets do not have a better offense than the Giants or the Jags do and they will be lucky if they can even score on the Broncos in this game. The Broncos have the home advantage here and on top of that, Wilson is a rookie quarterback who will have to play this game at Mile-high, where the air and the altitude plays a big role in how the ball moves through the air. The spread in this game is around 10-11 currently and although that looks appealing for the Jets, they are not going to cover that. They will struggle to even score in this game between the Broncos defense, the altitude, and the opposing fans, it is a recipe for disaster. Broncos win and cover in a massacre.

Notable Quotes

"They should be booing, right?. We didn't play well on offense. Our defense gave us a good chance to win. We didn't execute, we didn't move the ball well and we didn't score any points. We've got to do a better job there." - Zach Wilson after their loss to the Patriots.

"There was a lot of hard work that went into it. I've had a lot of people in my corner just supporting me throughout that whole process. I take each play as an opportunity to go be me." - Courtland Sutton after a great game against the Jaguars after coming back from an injury riddled season last year.
