Season Record

Giants: 4-8, last place NFC East
Chargers: 7-5, 2nd place AFC West

The Giants should bury their heads in the sand in shame.  New York's games are terrible.  The Giants stats are lousy.  The Giants had a terrible October and a terrible November… December is here to keep laughing at them.  Annoying talking heads on ESPN love to talk about how they love the Knicks and the Giants… They should lay off the Giants for a few years. The Giants are in a division with the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Football team… and they are the worst of that division.  As 10.5 point underdogs to a 7-5 team… they shouldn’t get any respect… They just got stomped by 11 points by the Miami Dolphins for Pete’s sake!

The Chargers have their quarterback!  They promised everyone they would be good this season and they… kind of are?  The Bolts won their last game against the Cincinnati Bengals which was billed as a quarterback duel… except Justin Herbert is better than Joe Burrow at practically everything.  There will be a lot of wagers placed on the Chargers in this game… Look for those touchdown passes.

Giants vs Chargers Preview and Analysis

RECENT FORM
The Giants are 4-8 on the season, but 6-6 ATS.  They have logged 3 Overs, 8 Unders, and 1 Push.  They are an atrocious 1-5 on the road.  QB Daniel Jones is in the last year in the Giants plans, he got known more for interceptions and turnovers than receptions and touchdowns.  Can he cover this spread in his farewell tour of Los Angeles?

The Chargers are 7-5 on the season, but 6-6 ATS.  They have notched 5 Overs and 7 Unders.  They are 3-3 in home games.  The Chargers post a game average of 26.2 ppg, the Giants only post 17.6 per game… we are at 9 points already.

Offensive Analysis

The Giants are 26th in the NFL in ypg with 311.8… It’s a litany of low rankings.  They are 21st in passing yards, 26th in rushing yards, 28th in points scored.

The Chargers are 9th in points per game with 26.2, 9th in yards per game with 382.1, 6th in passing yards with 281.1 per game, and 22nd in rushing yards with 101 per game.  They need to give a little more responsibility to the run game to open things up for Justiin Herbert and his big play capabilities.  When the defense is on its toes Herbert smacks em’ good.

Defensive Analysis

The Giants are also poor on defense ranking 24th in defending yards by allowing 365.3 per game, 25th in rushing yards by allowing 122.8 yards, and 18th in points allowed with 22.8.  They have 1 bright spot as 8th in the league in takeaways… this stat matters since Justin Herbert is truly a young quarterback.

New York Giants vs Los Angeles Chargers Prediction

Our prediction for Sunday, December 12th is….  Chargers 35 - Giants 13

Yes, the Giants will lose and lose big.  The weather in Los Angeles will be beautiful and the Chargers offense won’t be slowed a bit.  The contest's total may not go Over (as I predict) because that number is based on the squads combine for points… the giants may not add to the total.

COACHES

Giants: Joe Judge. Coach Judge is 10-18 since he took the Giants head coaching job.  He has 3 Super Bowl rings as an assistant with the New England Patriots… he’ll have that to look back on when the Giants move on from him.  Any coach would suffer with this roster though as the team committed to Daniel Jones oddly with a draft day trade and 4 years of wanting to prove they were right.  They weren’t it’s time to actually rebuild.

Chargers: Brandon Staley.  Coach Staley got a great opportunity as the Rams defensive coordinator under Seam McVay in 2020… 2020… 2020… before that the 38 year old was a linebacker coach.  Yet working for a kingmaker made him a King.  Now he has another great opportunity coaching a quality squad in a great city with a  great young quarterback for great money.  Easy street, starts with Brandon Staley.
