New Orleans Saints Analysis

The Saints are coming into this game with a 2-2 record overall and they are 1-1 in their road games where they will be in this game. They have gone through alternating wins and losses each week as their 2 wins came against the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots while their 2 losses came against the Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants in their last game losing that one in OT at the Caesars Superdome, their first game there in front of fans since Hurricane Ida hit. Jameis Winston, who has taken over for Drew Brees since he retired at the end of last season, played alright in that game as he completed 17/23 passes for 226 yards and 1 touchdown. Taysom Hill also got in for a few snaps and completed 2/3 passes for 9 yards and 1 interception. Alvin Kamara had a big day on the ground as he led the team in rushing with 120 yards on 26 carries. He was basically their entire running game in that one. Marquez Callaway led the receivers with 74 yards on 2 receptions. Malcolm Jenkins led the defense with 8 solo tackles and 4 assisted ones while Pete Werner was right behind him with 6 solo tackles and 4 assisted ones. No one on the defense recorded a sack in that game but Marcus Williams came away with the only interception for his team. They have scored 94 points in their first 4 games and they have allowed their opponents to score 69 points against them. Their offense has accumulated 1,107 yards while their defense has allowed 1,397 yards against them.

Antonio Gibson led the team in rushing with 63 yards and 1 touchdown on 14 carries but they did not have much of a run game in that one. Saints vs Washington Prediction

Washington has been playing very well in their last few games. Their only 2 losses this season were against the Bills and the Chargers who are both turning out to be powerhouses in the AFC. They are finding ways to win the grinding games. The Saints have to be hurting here after an OT loss in their last game handing the Giants their first win of the season. The Saints have been hit or miss this year but at least Washington can say they got the win against the Giants in that close game. Washington is a slight underdog at home here with the current betting odds but the value is on them. The best bet to place in this game is on the Washington Football Team to win on the moneyline.

Players to Watch

New Orleans Saints: Alvin Kamara is one player to watch in this matchup. He leads his team in rushing yards and he is a very explosive player. He did not get any work in the passing game last week but he is their biggest playmaker on the team in the absence of Michael Thomas. Look for him to get looks in both the running game and the passing game as he will be a key piece in this offense if they are going to win this game.

Washington Football Team: Terry McLaurin is one player to watch in this contest. He leads his team in receiving yards and in touchdowns scored this season. He is coming off of a big game where he had over 100 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns. Look for him to make some big catches in this game and get into the end zone as he is a focal point of this offense.
