Saints vs Texans Prediction

The current betting odds have the Saints listed as a 1.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Saints have been getting by this season with their 3-2 record right now but they looked a lot better in their last game as they finally had a blowout win on the road against the Patriots. The Saints looked really good on defense in that game as they got the shutout and have only reinforced themselves as one of the best defenses in the league. The Texans also have a good defense on a team that has been overperforming at 2-3 this year and even CJ Stroud has looked really good in his rookie season. As good as Stroud has been this year, he is still on a team that doesn't have a ton of talent and the Saints offense is a lot better with more talented weapons and an experienced QB who can use them. Their offense is going to get better as the season goes on and their defense is playing like one of the best in the league right now. This is the best defense Stroud will have faced in his NFL career and he is not going to look as good in this game as their offense will struggle to move the ball. The best way to place a bet here is on the Saints to cover the spread in this game.

Saints Texans Prediction:  Our NFL Pick for Sunday, October 15, 2023 (1:00 pm ET start time) is Saints 27 Texans 13.

Notable Quotes

“Anytime you find yourself in a lull or rut ... you’ve got to find a way to fix it fast. Sometimes you get those ruts and it compounds and it starts to just turn into your identity. That’s the one thing we didn’t want to happen, because we know what our identity is. We kind of got a chance to put it on display today.” - Alvin Kamara after their win against the Patriots in their last game.

“We were in situations where we could get points and we didn’t. We had to kick field goals when we were in those positions." - DeMeco Ryans after his team’s loss against the Falcons in their last game.
